ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a RU-vid channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on RU-vid, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

@GrandAdventure
@GrandAdventure 5 лет назад
You know, Rob -- I think that's a very good point. I know that they've done that to me, so they sure ought to be able to do that to others. As for the lake, if you watch some of the lake shots in the video you can actually see the fish jumping and surfacing all over the lake. Rainbow trout, however, are not native to Utah. Almost all of the ~1,000 small lakes in the Uinta Mountains are stocked. Because most are accessible only by foot, those are actually stocked from a fixed-wing aircraft: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-W_FqeWPSnDQ.html Our native trout are primarily cutthroat. Fly fishing the Weber River yesterday I was happy to land a decent Rocky Mountain Whitefish, another native species.

I totally agree and really can relate with Janett. We live in the Wichita Falls Texas area and recently went to Red River New Mexico. The cooler temps and the mountains was a fantastic change of scenery. I even attempted ONE forest road in Carson National Forest. However, the Toyota Camry is not the ideal vehicle for most forest roads...hahaha. A 4 wheel driver Sprinter is my dream machine :-) Wonderful video as always and a very beautiful area. Thank you for sharing! Brandon

Thank you, Brandon! Red River is indeed a beautiful area -- we've been there both winter and summer, and Red River was included in our Taos video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zS-lmsmbMSo.html -- but we'd agree, a Camry isn't the tool of choice for those forest roads. 😲 Glad you enjoyed the video, and Jeannette and John were an absolute pleasure to get to know on this trip.

I just found your channel a few days ago, and subscribed. I’m very happy about this because, number one, I like how you describe your destinations, your photography and editing skills are excellent and your videos are entertaining along with being informative. Second reason is that I recently started my own RU-vid channel and have put up a few beginner videos and this is so that when I get my RV, planning on the first of the year for this to happen, I can document my travels like so many of you are doing. I looked this up thinking it might be the lake that I spent a wonderful week camping at back in 1963. But the lake was a little larger than the one I remember. I really enjoyed my time in the Unita mountains!
@GrandAdventure
@GrandAdventure 5 лет назад
Steve, it's hard to keep track of the many, many small lakes in the Uintas. They're almost countless -- the number we've heard bandied about is around 1,000. Regardless of whether or not this is the same lake, we're so happy that it could remind you of your trip in 1963 and thank you for sharing that memory with us! You may also enjoy watching another video we did, which is sort of an overview of the Uintas from some of our many trips up there over the years: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AanVVzP0_oM.html

@GrandAdventure

Helen, the whole process for finding these spots begins with simply poring over maps: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TTRw3A-IIZY.html That episode I just linked explains our process for finding camping spots from start to finish. We're thrilled to have you along as a subscriber, and thank you for giving us that trust! Yes, Maggie was our golden retriever, and while we didn't know it as we were filming and editing this episode, this was to be Maggie's final camping trip. We're all lost without her, but perhaps no one as much as our lab Zoe, for whom Maggie was a nurturing maternal figure since Zoe was perhaps 10 weeks old. We all miss Maggie intensely right now as the wound is still very fresh, and we sincerely appreciate your kind words.
