Dr. Subrahmaniam and Kavita ji, thanks for the insightful podcast. We enjoyed the concert of Dr. Subrahmaniam and Ambi in Cleveland a few years back. The auditorium was so quiet and the evening was so joyful . Can't forget that experience.
What a brilliant video. So needed. Schools and parents both need to organise sessions on bullying- although in my experience bullying still continues, at least it opens the door for dialogue and help when a school recognises this.
What greatness! Both of them When you have two guests of such high calibre and one of them is seen has popular and another eclectic it’s not easy to balance. But Smita ji managed it very well. She is not gossipy or fawning.
My wife and I like your podcast Smitha ji and listen to it always. Now that I know you are a kannadiga, is indeed a great feeling as a kannadiga myself. Having legends LS ji and KK ji is fantastic..
Very special show, smithaji. L. Subramaniam did medicine same time as me and have seen him in intercollegiate cultural shows and of course am a big fan of Kavithaji. Enjoyed the show. 🙏🇮🇳🇺🇸
Amazing podcast with two legends of the music world!! 👏👏👏👏 Thoroughly enjoyed every minute! I was fortunate to have been travelling with Dr LS on one of his flights, I requested his permission to take his pic. I was amazed at his magnanimity when he requested a fellow passenger to take a pic of him with me. It is the humility of these artistes that make them the legends that they are 🙏🙏🙏
Awesomely awesome session !👌 👌 mind blowing, fantabulous, humble, down to earth couple! Thankyou Smita Ji for hosting Dr. Subramanyam and Kavita Ji ! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Though I had watched the duo being interviewed in a lengthy show on Lallantop, yet I watched your show again because I am a big FAN of Smita who brings out the best out of her interviewees, and her research and respectful questioning is quite probing without being intrusive. Above all Smita too is a Kannadiga like me and also an NRSI-North Resident South Indian like me!
both legends. blessed by sathya sai baba. great to see them both encourage that children should learn music. being a student of music helps one develop discipline, concentration and stimulates parts of the brain that cant be activated by textbooks
Great to see and hear two greats in music. I had a chance acquaintance with Ms Kavita Krishnamurthi when she was accompanying late Shri MannaDay. The duet ‘tu chupi he kaham’ song still resonates in my mind. The song has much variety and mood changes and it was a great treat ! Smithaji, you bagged a good one today! Two for one!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💐‼️
This is sucha fantastic documentation- legends indeed and your ability to enable suchan indeoth conversation. I learned so much. I always loved Mr Subramanian Violin-Having all cds but got to know more about Shradhda/Kavitha sister.
Indeed grateful to the lord to have these two amazing musicians and personalities. This episode shall remain in the my shortlist of all time favorite podcasts. ❤
Fantastic, Brilliant, Amazing 👌👌👌......I had not known about Kavita Krishnamurthy, but yes was familiar with her songs, but I have heard Dr. Subramaniam around 25 years ago, and was familiar with him. I just happened to click on the trailer of this podcast, and was completely taken aback by the sheer insightful nature of discussions, which got me curious to know more, and especially of this simply divine couple who are in a complete state of flow even in their takes of silence. But, seriously it has to be said, Smitaji.....you really compered it beautifully. You were like a sculptor at work with your questions. Overall, there is so much in this podcast to learn from for people cutting across backgrounds, professions and age, about family bonding and devotion, love of art for the pure love of it, being comfortable with oneself. Towards the end, Kavitaji made a very strong point that much as she is a mother and daughter at home, she takes the same mind to work, which today is missing in the artists as they need to project themselves as something else, which is so stressful. That was a truly insightful point that was made. Here's a huge applause for churning out superb piece of work which will inspire all those who listen to it for a very long time. Jai Hind 🇮🇳 !
Wow!! I just feel that they don't make musicians like them anymore.......Kavita mam is so genuine and real, both their humble demeanor is a testament to their expertise in their respective genres. My favourite song of Kavita mam is "Pyar hua chupke se" from 1942- A Love Story. Lovely interview!!
Beautiful! So much knowledge and experience in one room❤. In keeping with the musical couple theme, would love to see Vid. Kumaresh Rajagopalan and Dr. Jayanthi Kumaresh on the program. Both are Carnatic musicians par excellence! 🙏
wonderful podcast. Kavitha Krishnamurthy is so humble .... One request to you Smithaji.... kindly refrain from interrupting in the middle of the conversation
😊😊😊 Thanks Smita Mem !! You have very successfully tried to present, the most unassuming and self-effacing couple, who always try to keep away from the Limelight !! And, just, Music 'n' Music is their World .. Undoubtedly, they our our Cultural Ambassador of present times !!
A very nice - PC. Have known Kavita's family from my Geneva days. Hearing and listening to musicians was so enjoyable for me as I had the benefit of performing concert musicians coming and staying at our house.
Wonderful interview indeed!🙏🏻, all of us know that they’re legends in their own way and field…🙏🏻, but balancing of their passion to the core inspite of so many ups and downs in their personal lives and leading a life as an ideal couple for just ( perhaps one!) major common passion… MUSIC And thereby leading us by their own example … a big Namaskaram to both of you…🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
A superb conversation highlighting the wide spectrum of music. However, wish you had let them talk instead often interrupting so that we could have had more of the finer points from them….overall a fine podcast… thankyou so much!!!
Dr. L. Subramaniam addressed by legendary Violinist Yehudi Menuhin as " Maestro " is a great Honour for Violinist Dr. L. Subramaniam. The Sitar Violin Duet Performance by Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar & Yehudi Menuhin, accompanied on the Tabla by legendary Tabla Player Alla Rakha , had been an outstandingly melodious performance which will be remembered forever . Highly Talented Vocalist Kavita Krishnamurti & Great Violinist Dr. L. Subramaniam had an interesting & informative conversation with Veteran Journalist Smita Prakash in this Podcast. Best Wishes
