The Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival (LGMF) presented the American singer Al-Jarreau, pianist George Duke, Bass player Stanley Clarke, and others in its 2005 edition. Here's a live recording of the performance in New Delhi.

A favorite because of her beautiful voice, Al Jarreau's dancing', Stanley Clarke's plucking/slammin' that Alembic, while remembering years ago seeing George Duke in an outfield of a major league baseball stadium in Cincinnati Ohio during a music several day festival visited several three years. George was singing, playing many keyboards while 5 ladies were eating chicken on stage jazzin' the show up. Tensions that year dissolved in the first year of of the early 90's festival, for whatever reason! Hope everyone gets their just due. Dr. Subramaniam, the venerable master.
The late Al Jarreau with the arranger, the late George Duke and Stanley Clarke. Absolutely brilliant! Added on is Kavitaji- absolutely fantastic. Then to add onto that is the percussion and the beats. A perfect recipe for and to listen to a superb composition - excellent fusion.
My countless salutations to the genius of the violin accompanist & the one spelling rhythm syllables.Kavita Jee's sensing & presentation of the ongoing symphony in ragdari terms is admirable.
Why did it take me 18 years to find this beautiful arrangement. Simply jaw dropping and cant wait to share with friends, with whom I grew up, listening to jazz fusion

A marvelous effort no doubt by all the musicians and especially by the Illustrious Maestro Shri. L. Subramaniam but nevertheless a slightly water downed version of the pristine purity established by that Giant of a Musician the late Lakshminarayan through his incomparable music in those Golden Days of Yesteryear!
I forgot about Earl Klugh, and some other performers; not certain about names but all nice to hear together; the percussionist involved with Eric Clapton's festival, as well. Bought their music to get thru law school in 70s.
