Totally agree. My two favs. Really cool to hear Derick speaking meaningful sentences and NOT using sparkalator language. Well thought out questions for Matt, and then Matts always honest and heartfelt answers. It's nice getting background info. biggest of thumbs up. 100 out of 100
Yep! But it IS a bit stilted, like they are from two different scenes. Matt is like your Dad - giving advice, helping out, showing off, but always with that reserve that Dads have (maybe in case of misguiding or hurting their kids in some way?). Derek is your whako brother! Always trying something new and a bit dangerous. If ever you find yourself doing this a bit risky, Derek's your brother.
If Derek did ANYTHING else on top of whatever he does now, his fans would revolt!! Seriously, I see a lot of bitching and moaning when he strays from revivals.
No Way, my favorite youtubers sitting at the same table! I'm glad Derek considered the Off-Road Games, because it would have been so fun so see him there!
@RustyZipper AAA case settled out of court for a low amount. God forbid someone try to help someone get over on a insurance company to help someone out! 😊
I like how a lot of the biggest youtube success stories are led by ordinary, honest, hard-working, friendly people who you'd actually want to hang out and have a pop with. It's what has made this medium so successful and plucked people from obscurity into the mainstream conscience in such a positive way. I have no desire to spend time around actors, athletes or tech billionaires, but I'd love to tear down an engine with either of these guys.
Watching regular TV with the fake people and 2nd grade story writing, along with 1/3 of the time spent watching a commercial is completely unbearable after watching real people like this.
I can't believe I'm seeing this! This is what I've been wanting. VGG fan for 4 years, just found Matt the very end of last year. I'd love to see a build collab between these two! Maybe the gambler build that Matt's been hinting at picked out of rusty acers?!?!?!?
On what? They do different things, work in different niches. Forced RU-vid "collaborations" are tedious and produce the highest level of cringe known to man.
Ive been thinking Derek would be a great candidate for the Non 4x4 RU-vidr in the Off Road Games....been a VVG fan for years now. Discovered Matt late last year....glued to my screen for every recovery...and here you two are!! Awesome!!!!
AWESOMENESS 🙌🏻 We got the pleasure of meeting Matt and the crew two years ago at Jeep Invasion in Pigeon Forge!! Derek & Matt are a great combination!! One day we’ll meet Derek and his crew!!
Golden nugget. Was definitely a favourite of mine. From the recovery to the complete rebuild. Then the reveal. Soo many involved. Fab Rats, Robbie and Matt's off road recovery.
I've been a huge fan of both Derek and Matt (and everyone involved with them) for a few years now. I'm really surprised this didn't happen sooner! Bring Derek to the wrecker games!
Seeing these two together was awesome! So much knowledge from experience that can't be taught through books or the classroom. Love both of these guys and always watch their new videos. Keep up the great work fellers!
This is going to be absolutely awesome!!! Can’t wait for this episode to drop!!! I knew it was just going to be a matter of time. Thanks for being such great influencers and providing us viewers with such great content. I am very grateful for you guys.
I am such a big fan of Matt's channel thru them I found Fab Rat's and so many more recovery related sites....and have become a very big fan of 4 wheel drive vehicles along with trophy truck racing.....and it is just a great place for me to hang out to watch
In 1978, I had a pretty radical (by straight 4 cylinder standards) 1974 Ford Pinto. The motor was beefed up, the transmission was tweaked, the rear suspension was modified to allow a set of 16 inch rims and high sidewall mud grabber tires. I once went around a jeep CJ that was stuck in the trail out mud running that car in the river bottoms. Oh, and I put a Jensen Powerplay cassette deck with triaxial speakers that turned it into a concert hall!😃
I love both guys channels! Really great content. It's interesting as their channels are quite different. Derek has mostly gone solo out into the wilds and rescued cars completely on his own, sometimes without even having his own vehicle on site, although lately he has been doing more collaborations with others, like Steve Dulcich. Matt on the other hand, has really built a team of folks of different ages and talent levels, he's really running a training program almost for the younger generation, which I think is awesome. What both have in common is just a genuine niceness and a real commitment to their families, it shows! Thanks to the both of you for doing what you do and bringing us along for the ride!
Finally got time to watch this now and already loving it. These two guys are probly my favorite people on RU-vid. They’re just generous, kind hearted fellas that are so enjoyable to watch because they’re so authentic and you can tell that they are always being genuine to themselves and not faking their personality for views.
"Yep, uh huh, itsyah...two of the BEST automotive-related channel creators on RU-vid talking about vehicles, car projects, adventures, family, friends, keepin' it real and having fun! Who doesn't like THAT?!"
I love Matt's channel. I normally watch RU-vid at 1.5x speed but not Matt. Surprisingly compelling videos and has inspired me to carry straps now in my truck
YESSSSS!!! These are my absolute two favorite channels to watch. These two channels are my go-to, and I'm so glad to see them get to meet and have some enjoyable conversation. MAYBE, just maybe a giant collab build for the off-road rollback. Matt, and Paul from FabRats can fabricate the body/chasis, Tony from Stay Tuned and Derek can build the engine, and Robby Layton can do paint and body, and it all can be done in a 'Monster Garage' type setting (like VGG did I think last year). It would be epic and legit. Just sayin.
Thanks too both of you, this is the content a lot of us love!!!!! My 22 year old son works as a roadside big rig mechanic and tow truck driver, and it is dangerous so thank you for mentioning the dangers of the job, I really do appreciate it.... We are both huge fans, so I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!! keep the awesome content coming!!!!!
I'm sorry Derek, but you used to be my very favorite RU-vid channel. But since I found Matt's off road recovery. It has got it all projects, off roading comedy ,recovery. It is the best. And I've pretty much watched all the automotive stuff. He's heads up the best
I follow many and these two are my favorites, love this interview!!! You two need to do some content together, maybe Derek in the Morvair at the Offroad Games!!!
Derek I really love this in the Aisles series that you are doing with O'Reilly's. Would really love to see you do a show with SLEEPERDUDE who also happens live in Tennessee as well and has a great YT channel.
I see from the comments that I'm not the only one smiling. Im an early genx guy (1965) and I didn't get into watching you tube til a couple years ago. I actually found Matt's channel first,I live in the Mojave, love offroading and Matt came on my radar first. Then along came Derek. Now this show is just too too cool! 😎
Right there with you both on the reading. Love watching you both on your respective channels. I started singing “Bare Necessities” in my head when you said that..LOL
VGG and MORR are a match made in heaven! Don't know how Derek finds the time but he seems to be able to meet with or work with all my favorite off road fab shops on youtube.
Been watching both of these guys since they started on RU-vid pretty much, so crazy to see them together in the same video! Pretty much all of my favs on RU-vid have done collaborations now….so cool!
Great video, what a couple of legends. My dad did the same thing as Derek when I was a little kid and the brakes on our 1926 Buick were nearly on fire 😂
Had me at Corvair. My dad had a 1967, and I REALLY wanted to make it my project car. My brother-in-law 'took it off my dad's hands' to 'rebuild it'. Yea... he sold it a week later for $750. I have never been so cheesed off in my life. Yes, it needed work, but it actually still ran. Never so angry. My neighbor has a 1965 Corvair Convertible. I have been on him for years about it. :) He loves that car, and it is in near mint condition. He is in his late 80s, and said once he can't drive he will offer it up...we shall see.
Awesome, two of my favorite youtubers chatting, makes a morning coffee a great time...Good vid guys and thx Derrick for sharing it...the family of youtubers keeps growing,
What a way to spend my morning. My husband got me watching both of you. And we usually do so together when hes home. But being a truck driver, he's home a few days . So we usually spend time with you guys fab rats and Trailmater and Robby layton. What a fun weekend. Hes also a fan of diesel creek. So i guess im a fellerette!! Lol⁸
