So the time is almost upon me to make a decision on whether I invest in keeping a Manticore in my metal detecting arsenal... I decided to detect the same field on 2 days in the same week with both the Deus 2 and Manticore to see which performs better. I was shocked at the result.

Good shoot-out Henry, and great to see the Manticore doing so well... As a Deus 2 user, out of (obvious) interest 😅: It sounds like you were pushing the settings on the Manticore, but can you remember where you were at with the Deus 2 in Relic Mode? (Nb. I tend to find I can crank up the Sensitivity to high 90's in Relic mode, with a Low Reactivity of 1.5 or even 1!... That way I can get super deep... Anyways, interested to know pls. matey, and thanks again for the great video content... Bobby 🙏🏻

@@GRIFFINds Great stuff thanks Henry... Yeah, I notice a lot of Deus 2 guys favour Reactivity at '1.5', so I tend to run at that. I'm a *Really* slow swinger tho', so I sometimes go to '1' for still more depth... As for Sensitivity, I just whack it up, 'til just before 'EMI lunacy!' - so I'm often at 98 or so.... Maybe that's the kind of settings needed to compete with the Manticore?... 🤔 😅 All good fun tho' hey matey? and would love to try the Manticore one day... (altho' I am a big fan of XP's lightweight vibe...) 👊 Take care fer now, and thanks again for the vidz, Bobby 🐭

Thats a really clear difference in favour of the minelab beast! I can't wait to try our loan one out on the field next weekend in cambridgeshire!! Something tells me i'll be asking lots of questions! Nice bag seal too, almost looks like its from denmark or finland or somewhere like that?

Well done Henry. Good days out. Certainly got more with the manticore. This week I did a cherry picking program in the trash mode and wiped out 33 and below. English half sovs come in at 34. May I suggest that if you don’t know the field, run it in all terrain general because hammereds and staters can come up under 13 which is what the trash settings notch out. Once you know a field, discriminate to your heart’s content. Hope you and your dad had a great time at the RC. Take care mate 🦘🦘😁👍

Loved this episode.. as I own the deus 2, I'm disappointed the manticore smashed it so much. I hope that's just where you walked lol. Well done on the King William, always nice to find something for the first time. I love the bag seals, lovely finds. I'd say that does look like a stylus, but I don't know much. With your mum finding a silver Roman so close by though... it could be. Well done. 😊

Hi Eddie, personally I use the Sensi FT (program 3), I change the reactivity depending on how irony/mineralised the soil is, and change the sensitivity so the chatter is just bearable. I hope this helps. Thank you for your support and have fun in the fields. Good luck 👍✨

@eddiehogg5083 Hiya, I normally run it fully open at -6.4, and have the iron volume at 2 so I can hear everything, and differentiate iron myself the iron. Don't be afraid to sometimes dig the good tones with a little bit of a grunt, as this can be caused by target halo, where the ground minerals are attracted to the metal giving it a 'halo'. I run the silencer at 2 or 3 to combat this. I run the Bottle cap filter at 0 as I have very few in my fields. The bottle cap filter can help get rid of large iron, but at the risk of missing targets.

Hi mate. Thanks for watching. Personally, after a while of using both machines, I believe that the Minelab Manticore is a better machine than the xp Deus 2. Although the manticore costs more than the Deus, I still believe its worth its value. This is because, as of recently, I've found so much more than I have ever found in both deep or small target/signals. Thanks again, mate. Catch you on the next. 😊👍

I think it was more luck. These 2 detectors are so close tot each other in performance. If you repeat this experiment for a few days i bet the results will be more or less the same for the 2 detectors.
