Little house coming back to life is a dream come true!!!!

Thank you Alison for bringing up the episode, “Plague”. When I taught during Covid, many students were making statements about the world putting limitations on their life and government never controlled people’s life before. Here comes good ole’ LHotP, “Plague” episode I could show my students this was exactly what communities did to protect lives of the community.

Thank you for this! So sad to hear that Melissa and Alison will NOT be reacting the ride down the hill in a wheelchair scene...🤣 This is going to be a fun year for Little House!

Five year old me wanted to move to Walnut Grove and be friends with Laura. My dad told me that she's dead and it's a tv show with actors. I was devastated. I thought it was a reality TV show before there were reality TV shows and that 1977 Walnut Grove was like it was on TV. After he explained how TV works and the actors are just pretending, I felt better, but I was still sad I couldn't move there and be friends with Laura. Also, I never read the books. Fifty-two year old me can't wait to go to the festival in March!

I love you all!! I watched it when I was little. And now, as an adult, I really enjoy viewing it more with a understanding of the messages behind each episode. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. ❤😊❤ I'm now starting to collect books and search for other authors.

The American Masters Laura Ingalls Wilder documentary was so fantastic it went beyond the TV show and the books and told us what her life was like and I absolutely enjoyed it so thank you for that Chris and I'm looking forward to other episodes of this podcast cuz it's so awesome

I was reading the little house books when I was about 4 or 5 years old and my great grandma got me into the books then I got into watching the little house series

I have always loved the books and show as 2 separate things. The show may be loosely based on the books, but they each have their own identities. Like Chris I am 52 and grew up watching the show, but I devoured the book series when I was in first grade. I have read it many times over my life as it is comforting to me. I came back to the TV series because of Alison's daily readings during the pandemic.

I loved watching the series even now the reruns it's full of mortals and and principals, excellent lessons to learn in life no matter what what age you are..

Fantastic episode. Chris is a great addition and delivers so much in-depth information on the books and show. Dean’s intensity is grounded so well. Alison and Pamela bring great balance and couldn’t be done without them. Excellent job!

Would love to be able to watch the film/TV-series that was mentioned that Chris made outside of the US, I hope that is possible somehow?! For all of us in the rest of the world that don't have PBS but who love LIW and LHOP (Books and TV-series)! ♥

I have watched every episode of LHOTP a million times and as a child while it was on tv. Who is Pamela Bob and how is she connected to the show?

Frontier House 😍 I have loved it since its debut and have watched my DVDs often! Spoiler Alert for those that haven’t seen it, the Frontier has their very own version of ‘Mrs. Oleson’! 😂 (per a cast member) I love them all! Gotta have some spice on the frontier! They don’t mention it here, but there’s also ‘Colonial House’ that replicates the Mayflower/New Settlement experience. Equally as great!! DVDs still available for this one!

Is there any room for a Fan Question and Answer section or " just leave it in the comments" section?" My first question hopefully can be answered by someone in the next year.... Why are all the episodes in the traditional old tv style 4:3 aspect ratio and not the new tv style 16:9 aspect ratio? I'm asking because other shows of the period such as "The Waltons" are now shown in 16:9 ratio? Were they filmed differently or used different film? Just wondering if you can answer this if you ever interview a camera person or technical person on your podcast.
