Thank you for your time and posting. If you can keep Jorja relaxed and having fun, and keep Dylan out of the net at the NVZ, you have a really great chance of winning. I've watched you and you really have improved a ton in the last year. Irvine was not hit dead center in her forehead, closer to her temple, above her eye. Great stuff as always.
I saw Andrea Koop the morning she was to play gender doubles and she told me that Jessie did not pass “concussion protocol”. How unfortunate that Andrea could not play in her tournament. I was there to see her and Jessie. Figured they had a great chance to take he gold.
Jessie wanted to continue but was advised not to by the onsite medical staff.. When she came back the next day to play they 'tested' her and again advised her not to play so she didn't..
FYI on concusion from a pickleball. A close friend (older woman) took one hard on the forehead. No big deal it seemed. Hours later, vomiting, vision loss, disorientation. ER visit showed "NO BRAIN ISSUE"!!! Full recovery next day. Just sayin, caution is the best call.
@@kimleith1378 You're preaching to the choir.. I never doubted her injury.. I was replying to what was said on the pod. If they advised me not to play as they did her, I wouldn't play.. 😊
@@kimleith1378 didn't take it that way.. 😊 I just was responding to the POD where they said they didn't know if she wanted to continue to play.. I knew she did as I watched it live.. 😊
NC Player Colín Schick Awesome 🤩 strong team Graham & Travis >>> … love this Podcast live, unscripted & Travis don’t apologize for your Little Girl she’s Family & adorable (one Dad to another!!!)
I ran the numbers on if a pickleball could generate enough force to cause the acceleration necessary to cause a concussion. I won't outline my process here (I posted this on the pickleball facebook forum), but I concluded a pickleball traveling 100 mph and hitting an object analogous to a human head would generate 2.4 g's of acceleration on this object. Scientific consensus is a concussion requires at least 70 g's of acceleration therefore I see no way she could have gotten a concussion this way. This does not rule out other factors or reasons, but I believe there is no way a pickleball hit at this speed can cause a concussion.
Agree watch the Tour de France 🇫🇷 and see riders hit the road blood dripping off their heads and get back on their bikes. One rider finished that day in the Top Ten Overall for the race that day !!!
Every circumstance is different. Every person is different. You actually have no idea how hard she was hit and how it affected her. People are only guessing on the actual impact and effect, the only person who knows is Irvine. And as someone else said, it was the medical staff that told her not to play. She would be stupid to not listen to them. But that testosterone thing in men always says, suck it up. That's why so many football players are permanently screwed up.
You are way off the mark here. If you get hit in just the right spot you barely have to get hit to get a concussion. This was clearly more than barely hit. It could definitely happen
