Our #imaginaryboyfriend, Dean Butler (aka Almanzo) is back for Part 2 of this insightful conversation. We learn how Dean started his acting training and career, the nearly impossible feat of booking Judy Bloom's "Forever" and how that prepared him for his Little House life. Dean talks about his very daunting first experience with Michael Landon on the set of Little House, and his thoughts about his fellow Little House cast members. He shares his experience at the recent Simi Valley 50th Anniversary Festival, and we do a fun rapid fire q&a! This podcast can’t end after 50! LHOP is my comfort show. I was switching cable companies and they didn’t have the channel LH came on in the afternoon so I didn’t switch. I thought I was the only person at age 60 who watched this show daily until one day early this year a TikTok magically appeared on my FYP, how they knew I’ll never get, but I was shocked. I thought wait other ppl watch this show continually too? I had NO idea it was still discussed. That opened me to a whole new world. I ADORE Alison. 50 years later and this show is still saving my life ❤

Could Almanzo be anymore Amazing?! Now I know why Dean was my LHOP crush (and always will be). What a storyteller he is also, he is simply wonderful! ❤ I could listen for 50 more ep. on him alone sharing his memories, just like this. And Pamela and Alison were great asking questions, supporting. Wow you are such a team! 🎉 Already can't wait for the next episode! They go by so fast.

It's good to hear the behind the stage perspectives of the actors. I was watching last night season 6 when Nellie tries to impress Percival by shortening herself .... then she yells back at the food complainer 👦 ... "COMING RIGHT UP," and she whips a plate at him. All I could think of was how much she must have loved that scene 😆 🤣 .... I will get Dean's book. I'm sure it's well written. I think it's totally fine for someone to write their perspective on their experience.

The things that you all are saying on the festival, you guys need to make a documentary on putting together the festival, how it started, and how it finishes. Including all these panels and such. LITTLE HOUSE 50 YEARS... DVD like 2 discs, 1 the making of and 2nd dvd the festival. I would totally buy it!! To add to all my little house collection.... think about it Dean Butler... your next produced documentary 😮

Could Dean please discuss S9 E7, The Wild Boy? What a poignant, riveting and “Emmy-Award winning performance “ Victor French gives in P2 in the church describing and trying to figure out what being “normal “ means! This is one of the best scenes in all of Little House, in my opinion ! 😀❤️

It’s on RU-vid under the title Once an Eagle Chapter I (1976) - Sam Elliott, Cliff Potts & Glenn Ford on “Classic Robb’s Glenn Ford Channel”. Dean’s scene is right before minute 39- at least I think that him. 😊

I’m late to comment but I’d like to know how Dean felt about working with Mr Montague- Robert Casper who passed away recently. His character was a hoot and I loved how he blended in their new “family” at the end of the last season and the finale!! 😂😢❤

watched the 1st episode lh new begining royal comes with jenny 1st of all they were there the yr before not like almazo said 10 yrs with 2 sons where did they go and also jenny 10 shed only be a year old if they folllowed a time line which they never did and almanzo is suddenly wearing mikes hat but its not the one ml wore cause its bran new in that 1st episode mikes was worn out and faded

I should have my book on dean butler by Tuesday and I can’t wait to get iti have heard of Allison Antrim and dean butler and they are somebody’s but I have never heard of pamala bob so she is a nobody at least as far as I’m concerned

Pamela Bob is a LHOTP MEGA (MEGA!) fan! So much so that she created a web series called "Livin' on the Prairie". A comedic take on her Fandom. She's brilliant and has done an amazing job facilitating and producing these podcasts! Please do a little research before jumping to conclusions.
