Aloha! Thanks for watching more videos! In terms of the fin-de-siècle, I would recommend things like H.G. Well's 'The Island of Doctor Moreau' (with all of its colonial and Darwinian anxieties), or Arthur Machen's story 'The Great God Pan' (about borderlands, sexuality, and science). Both seem quite indicative to me of work that is very much about anxieties about the future....

Hey Chris, have you heard of Heather O'Neill's 'When We Lost Our Heads'? It's a really interesting and well-written historical fiction book that came out earlier this month, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Great commentary as always! Looking forward to reading 'To Paradise', although I'm delaying doing so because of my high expectations 🥴

No, I don't know the O'Neill book, but will look it up! And yes, I know what you mean about delaying - I have that with so many authors!
