So glad I found your channel! We live in San Antonio and have dreams about doing the loop in a coupleof years, but doubts about how to manage it when the nearest marina is over 2 hours away. Seeing that you found a way after even being further from a marina than we are is inspiring, so we'll be following you closely on your adventure!
Nice job on the videos. Do you need reservations for overnight slips or dockage? If so, did you make the reservations by calling ahead on the same day? Thanks.
Hello, and thank you for the compliment! I hope you catch up to where we are today (Ep 30!) You don't need reservations ahead of time, you can call as you are getting close to a destination (or use the app called Dockwa, if a marina participates). We have been very lucky that we haven't had any trouble getting spots at marinas. But some loopers we know make them for weeks ahead of time. I don't personally like that because due to weather, things change often and then there's a list of marinas to call and change. So we try to mainly do same-day or 1 to 2 days ahead of time.
