We have an interior!!! Sorry that too so long team, lining the interior was a slow arduous process. But I tell you what, it is worth the wait 😍.
If you know, you know: 🙌.
I have finished most of the interior lining and damn it looks good. I have used 9mm birch ply, joined with 5mm shadow lines. I really wanted a clean minimal look so I decided not to use any fasteners. Instead I have used polyurethane to adhere the sheets on one by one. A slow process, but the result is stunning.
I have also opted to continue the ply into the bathroom. Partly to create a seamless flow from the house and partly to keep costs down. A bit of risky move but it is exterior grade glue and I am sealing the boards on every surface including the backs, joins. The plan is if I can hermetically seal the boards, I shouldn't have too much trouble. Time will tell.
You will notice large gaps in the ceilings along one wall. This is where I plan to make up panels that house LED strips. A cool idea I thought, but turns out putting a light hard up against a wall shows up EVERY imperfection. A rookie error, we'll just have to see how that one turns out.
Next step is to make my own double-glazed window for the roof window and finish off the lining around that. Then a quick final sand and get in there with a spray gun to clear coat it all.
I am also working on getting the cabinetry made that will go between the bedroom and bathroom. This will allow me to finish off all the internal walls and start work on waterproofing the bathroom and continuing on in there.
Enjoy team. The interior is really starting to take shape now.
Until next time, don't hate... educate, and go build cool stuff.
