So smart. If I knew $10,000 was riding on that word, I wouldn't be able to conjure up great clues. It's not an obvious word to describe but every clue word has an angle that will lead the team right to it.
I don't know if Road to nowhere is good clue for the word. Opposite Alive Beginning is a better clue. miso = Japanese's soup. Idk why Amanda didn't choose it. pretty easy.
I was so confused by that. What possessed her to think using 'blank' in the literal sense was a good idea? Couldn't she understand how confusing that would be for the poor contestants? I was also thinking 'stare look'? What's a 'stare look'?! 😆 Then she repeated it and lost two most words!!
Amanda's round was not good. All those words were very do-able. The staircase clue was good, but came after the dreadful 'blank look'. Naturally, both contestants thought she meant 'blank' in the way it's ALWAYS used in the game. It was the most confusing clue she could have given them. Then she repeated it, and was upset they couldn't get it!! 'Road to nowhere' sounded more figurative than literal. She should have skipped it immediately, then gone back knowing how many words she had left. Then she could have described a literal dead end 'a road you can't drive through', then added 'opposite alive' if she had enough words left. The woman describing 'force' took 6 words! 'Jedi's power' should have done the trick. 'Pattern' was really tough. What a shame they couldn't get it in time!
Antonia taking the time to come up with clues - very smart. Most just bluff the other team down past 15 and when she went to 15, Ashlie assumed she was bluffing. She wasn't.
Yes, you can use something with the same suffix as long as a word is not being used. So you can't say "ball, hoop" for "basketball" because "ball" is a word in itself. You can't say "Beyonce fans" for "beehive" because you have to say "bee" to say "Beyonce." But "ternal" isn't a word, etc.
@@johnsmi213 I understand but in pattern and paternal, the stresses are in different syllables. Just thinking if our team can get away with it. Because I can’t think of an easy clue for the word. “Repeated design” perhaps?
Damn, even knowing the words, Amanda's clues confused me. "Road to nowhere" sounds like some sort of purgatory or fictional term. "Blank look" I thought she was saying "[blank] look," as did the contestants. Since "blank" is used all the time in this game, did she not get that they were confused? Repeating it again but with anger isn't helpful. What an arrogant lady.
