Your subscriber just got in from shovelling 10 cm off of his Canadian driveway, in -20C weather, just to have you poke fun at him, his parka and woolly gloves. Yes I am keeping warm, but I'm also thankful that I can live vicariously through you.
Just think of all those calories you are burning while shovelling snow sowhen spring comes you'll be fit as a fiddle and should still be able to fit into your bike gear....
man, they got supermarkets that will blow u away.......probably 3 times the size of the biggest one we have here. Morocco is definitely a retirement place.
Another cracking video Ian. Great result with the front sprocket. Should be coming in to the Algarve at the right time time too! Nice to have the luxury and plethora of amenities further both im sure! 😁👍😎
You got a spring in ur step now - guess that’s coming home syndrome 😂 love the CAD drawings ref the rubber washer - keep ur eye on the drips as hot weather & oil may breakdown the super glue and solvent - but hey you’ve a plan B - drive safe be happy - great vids and info 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks again for sharing your journey through Africa. The repair to the clutch slave cylinder is inspirational. The weather here is starting to be less wet, salty and cold and in my next bit of leave in March will be following your path down to Gibralter on my BMW R1150 RT. We don't get fruit like that giant orange here anymore. I still cant believe the UK is the only country in history to vote for economic sanctions and leave the EU. I miss decent stuff in the shops and everything now has import duty.
Keep going old chap. I would love to have the guts and go in me to do what you are doing. I'm retired myself but Scotland and Snowdonia are my limits to touring.
I appreciate the video since I cut down on RU-vid. Yours are the only videos I watch. Looking at the pictures of the oil change I just can’t imagine being a KTM rider changing my oil every 10 hours but some people love that😂. Good on you for your MacGyver fix it skills as well.
You know mate, since I've been on this trip I've not seen a single KTM. With the exception of a Himilayan, a 650 kawasaki and a old transalp, its all been GS's.
Great video. I enjoyed those coastal road segments. Looks like peak tourist season, summer would be too hot. Surprised the sprockets were so beaten up. Makes me think how good a mid-size ADV with a shaft drive would be, like the new V-Strom 800, but with a shaft.
I dunno mate. Shafts can still go wrong. I met a Swiss guy in Senegal on a GS who was having drive issues. Actually, its winter here and its low season...!
Lots of things are falling apart now - except the engine - which is still going strong. Panniers falling apart, one bent front disc, rear brake lever bent, front shocks stiff, tent on its last legs, but other than that, all's fine and dandy.
Your other subscriber in England is fine thanks very wet but not too cold. I loved your little talk at the start of the video, you certainly are very resourceful and you certainly deserve a five star award for fixing your bike. Keep up the good work as I shall be watching you 😊.
Will you be back for the London bike show on the 16th Feb? I'm sure you could have a stand there. And definitely all of your 'subscriber' would love to meet you. I think you are becoming a bit of a legend
Great and entertaining and enlightening trip. I have a completely different view of what I expected of Morocco. Looks so nice. How long did it take to drink the old oil?….😉😉🤣 keep safe
Not a great idea to lube your chain in sandy conditions, it just acts like grinding paste. The shaft that your front sprocket attaches to does not look great. However great job in improvising .
This Video is great, I enjoy all other's as well. Wonderfull pictures...Would you tell me your Age ? I am 68 and still driving my 2011 air cooled R1200 GSA 1200 adventure ~15.000 km per Season. Take care on you...Greetings from Germany, Joachim.
Would you consider doing a live-stream Q&A on your return? Even better a one-man 'audience with'? I for one would certainly attend either. Regards: Your subscriber.
I can't even do that.....hope you are avoiding the rain. It has been forecast for over a week now. I am currently trying to organise a flight and bike hire to Marrakecs. Your videos have truly captured my attention. @@onemanonebike8514
You should organise a meet-up for your "subscriber" and you when you make it back to Scotland Ian. I'd definitely buy you a beer to hear some of your stories when you make it back to God's country. By the time you get back here, it may have stopped raining! I must say Agadir looks very different to when I went there in 2003. The beach road you rode along with the nice houses and apartments didn't exist. It was still covered with the remains of collapsed hotels from the big earthquake. They still had the Koran quote on the hill though.
Oh, I dunno mate. I'm not really one for making a fuss or being the centre of attention. I'm just happy to slip back into the country quietly and quickly - before interpol catch me...
Marrakesh is lovely Ithink a lot spanish property owners there. Think I’d have been doing a more frequent oil change. Surely paying there not much Wong a. Not surprised about drive being worn. Sand like grinding paste. Pay someone they are very resourceful in these “ backward” countries. Admire your tenacity but worth it?. Bet yr air filter is choked. Get service in Morocco not Marbella! £££££. How ru tyres?
The tyres are fine. Still going strong. I like to do all my own maintenance so theres no way I'd let someone else play with my machine unless its a suzuki dealer. I changed the air filter in Senegal, and I put my last one in when I got to Marrakesh - as well as the fuel filter - together with oil and oil filter change in Agadir. Shes like a new bike now.
