Hello Rachel. I am so pleased that you found the sewalong helpful. I hope to get a sewalong out each month at this stage... see how I go. I dont like to put pressure on myself, so will flow with it! Happy sewing
Thanks Deb. Yes, Kristen has beautiful fabrics and I was so pleased to finally be able to afford some from her store when she had a sale. Yes, still warm here, 32 again today but the mornings are lovely and cool. Happy sewing!

Just wanted to let you know that you look amazing in RED, my favorite color!! You are so put together with your beautiful accessories. I love jewelry also. I feel you're not dressed if you don't have earrings on! LOL! Have a great day!! I watched so many of your videos they are GREAT! I just wanted to say THANK--YOU for rescuing your pup! I have 2 rescues myself, LOVE them so much!!
What a great dress pattern! Looks Fab on you. I own just about every LN pattern but this one😂 but that won’t be for long😊. Also gob-smacked you cut this out with 1.5 meters - thanks so much for teaching me new tricks in laying out fabric and folding it in a different way. Very much enjoyed your sew along, thank you.
Hello Rebecca. thank you for your kind comment, I am so pleased that you found the sewalong so helpful. I hope you give the pattern a try now that you have seen it being made sucessfully! Happy sewing
Thanks for your comment, nice that you didnt swealter too much this summer. I hope we get a milder one next year, maybe it will be our turn?? Happy sewing
Hello there. thank you for your kind comment, I am so pleased that you found the sewalong so helpful. I hope you give the pattern a go now that you have seen how quite simple it is? Happy sewing
Hi Deb, great vlog. Loved following you as you made the Sonata. I have this pattern but been too scared to try it. Intimidated by the neckline! but having seen you do this I think its time to pull my big girl pants up and just do it. The fabric is gorgeous and getting the entire dress out of 1.5 metres is amazing. The finished garment looked stunning on you!
Thanks for the lovely comments, its so wonderful to know that the sewalong has helped you gain confidence to give the pattern a try. The instructions are pretty comprehensive which always helpd. Happy sewing!
Thanks for the comments. Perth is amazing to live in, but this summer has just been a bit long and the relentless heat was too much! a bit scary though hey? Happy sewing!
Great sewalong! Not found you before but I’ll be watching again. Love your apology for the metric/imperial swapping. My husband, retired engineer, finds it infuriating when I do that, but secretly I think he’s impressed that us seamstresses do it with ease all the time. Beautiful fabric and looks perfect on.
Hello and welcome to the channel. So lovely to have you watching and I hope you enjoy some of the previous videos. I have a focus on fun and joy.. Happy sewing
Getting ready to make my first Sonata dress and came across your sew-a-long. Thanks for putting this together. You are a great teacher. I was wondering why you did the pockets separately vs. leaving them as part of the original skirt pieces.
Hi, I have made the Sonata dress with the pockets included in the cut out process and the other way too, make them separately. I like the idea of having them inclluded in the garment, but not sure how strong they are without the extra support of seams added. Also, when llimied for fabric, it saves fabric to cut them separate to the main garment. I hope this helped
@@sewingseamswithdeb thank you for answering my question about the pockets. I thought about the fabric requirement but that makes sense about the strength as well. Especially if I reinforce it with some staytape. This video brought me to your channel. I’m so glad it did! You are a delight to watch!
