Thanks for the video, it was the best one I found on RU-vid. I followed your steps this week when I bought my cc-100. I live in So. Cal so I’m not too worried about needing heat. It was around 100 degrees where I live for about two weeks straight, and I wanted to protect my stogies. I hope I don’t outgrow it too quickly, lol. Keep up the good work! Not to start anything but I’m a Lions fan, but you seem pretty cool for a Pack fan, haha. Good luck this season.

Great to hear you bought the CC-100! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I have about 200 cigars jammed into mine right now and its pretty tight lol. I'm happy with the amount I'm able to store though. If it makes you feel better I do like the Lions more than the Vikings and Bears haha. Should be an interesting year. We'll see what happens. Good Luck to you guys and thanks for watching!

Do not use a distilled water/baking soda solution to clean the inside of your humidor! I did it, now it has white streaking and water-spots all over the inside that will not come off. I should have listened to the manufacture instructions and used a mild detergent with warm water. Thanks now my humidor looks like crap.

I worded my previous comment wrong, I meant to say that the video is great and insightful! Although I disagree with the vague application of the 70/70 rule because it will work for some people and their climates, but there are many areas that will require either slightly higher RH or much lower in the 60's. As for temperature, research and experience has shown that it's a less important factor but very important to never let out of the range of 55°F-75°F (preferably less than 73° F because 73-75°F is red line where mold and beetles could start to come into play for some people). I believe the wording you used may be just interpreted diffrerently among people and you could mention that different people will need to find their temp/RH range because everyone's is different. Asking others in your local area what they set theirs at could make it easier to find your happy medium as well. Thanks for the video and I hope my feedback/tone isn't taken the wrong way!
@simplediversion4409
@simplediversion4409 6 лет назад
Brenden Levesque We appreciate the discussion. I couldn’t agree with you more on the temp part! In our winter time temps can get into the low 60’s in areas of the house, but we’ve found no negative effect on the stogies. A big reason we like the CC-100H is so we can control the temp and not worry about beetles. You are right about RH, especially if you have a traditional humidor. Someone in Arizona would probably store at different levels than us here in Wisconsin. We will keep that in mind for future videos as we are also looking to improve! Thanks for commenting and providing useful info for us and the community!

They say you should use 1 large boveda pack per 25 cigars. I usually throw a few extra in so that it maintains humidity longer. I currently have about 8 69% Large Boveda packs in my wineador. @mikebarger138 Год назад
This is an old thread, but wiping the shelves does essentially nothing. It is a myth. Water on the shelves evaporating will actually dry the surface. It will not season faster. The only way to season cedar is to raise the humidity inside the humidor above your desired level until they absorb the moisture at a cellular level, and that takes time. There is no shortcut. Boveda 84% packs are perfect for that function.

@simplediversion4409
@simplediversion4409 3 года назад
Def do not use a tray of distilled water. It will give off way too much humidity. The Boveda packs are great because they are accurate +/- 1 degree. They are also two way devices that will pull in humidity incase its too high.
@bellofigoitaliano5038
@bellofigoitaliano5038 3 года назад
@@simplediversion4409 ok so that answers that question, my next question is how long should the packs be in this device ? Is it based off humidity ? @simplediversion4409
@simplediversion4409 3 года назад
@@bellofigoitaliano5038 the Boveda packs can last anywhere from 3 months to a year. It depends on how many you have in there and how often you open the door. Typically you want 1 larger Boveda pack per 25 cigars. You also want your humidor at least 50% full of stogies so the packs aren’t working as hard. You’ll know when they are no longer good as they will get hard and thin like a credit card.

I’m having a hard time getting the baking soda residue 100% out of the humidor. It’s just some really small traces here and there, is it gonna harm my cigars?

Tobacco/cigars, like paper are dry to the touch, but actually hold a certain amount of moisture.

Why does everyone call it a "wineador" when it's clearly specifically designed for cigars, not bottles of wine?

Because the idea came from taking a wine fridge and putting cigars in it and the name must have stuck lol
