In this episode Sean heads to a another new location with a scouting trip to Little Bow Reservoir in Southern Alberta. It was a beautiful day, but still quite smoky. This lake is very different than the others we typically fish, with a relatively clear bottom in many places. The water is also very clear and quite warm. The day started out slow as Sean checked varying depths. He finally found the fish late day and landed a few nice ones in the last hour of fishing.

well done Sean. little bow is a nice lake. i never have fished there with my kayak but have fished around the marina numerous times and caught a few pike. been on the lake with my surf boat and have only ever done watersports on the lake. Thanks for going and trying. i think i will take my kayak there and try my luck.cheers

@@AnglingSpiders yes you are right. sorry, i guess i should have listened to you better during the video. i was watching the olympics at the same time.i got cofused with the sign you were standing beside because at Travers it is called little bow provincial park(where campground and marina are at). anyways. i will try the lake you did also now that i know it is just east of travers. thx again for clarification.

Love the tips you share about how you find lakes. Also, I appreciate that you're not crazy secretive of the lakes you're at. There are many youtube channels that won't even hint where they're at.
@AnglingSpiders
@AnglingSpiders 3 года назад
We don't mind sharing, most info is available on the net if people look hard enough. We actually get more negative feedback from some people because they don't want us giving the information away. Not going to stop us, people still need to find the fish.

Fishing here is actually best in the Spring and Fall. The water is a bit too warm in the middle of summer.

need a bigger net next time you go bck there , that map is cool I like how it shows the depth range of the whole pond Fishbrain does it sometimes on certain ponds great tip on figuring out the bite but also always willing to be to try a new technique if the usually not working , also so far for you kayak do you take off your transducer mount and rod holder when you load it on the roof rack and also what’s the brand if you don’t mind sharing

Thanks for the great comment. We have bigger nets now, they came this week. Yes we take off the transducer and the rod holder. The transducer arm is a Scotty (check out Episode 30) and the forward rod holder is a Railblaza (more info in Episode 2)

Thank you very much. It depends on the location. In the previous video we split our time between trolling and casting. At this location I was trolling the entire time. That is because in a new lake I try to cover as much of the lake as possible.

Once we find it I troll in a straight line until it disappears. Then I turn around and head back towards it. After a few passes back and forth I know where the line is by tracking my path on the Garmin. This one was pretty big so lots of places to fish.
