Hi! Welcome to the Truly Myrtle podcast - grab a cuppa, your knitting and get comfy for a chat about all things knitting and sewing :) Show notes: www.trulymyrtl... My Designs: www.trulymyrtl...
I love all kind of books and really enjoyed this video. I have all the books you mentioned and still I enjoyed listening to you talking about them. I look forward to another video about some more books. By the way, I also knitted a Timely cardigan recently.
Just becoming acquainted with you and your podcasts, thanks to Fruity Knitting. Are you a Waldorf grad? Did your kids go to Waldorf school? I ask as a Waldorf grad myself and both of my kids have gone through. I am a Handwork teacher in the same school that I attended, so of course, all things knitting and Handwork are central to my life. I am enjoying getting to know you and your work through this medium. Best to you!
Thanks very much for this video, I’m a new knitter and I just ordered the Elizabeth Zimmerman book you suggested. It sounds like it’s just what I need.
As with Nicole Fields I came to you after watching the Fruity Knitting podcast. Loved this podcast and hearing about the books you shared and will definitely watch more :)
Another great podcast! Thank you so much. I have all the books you mentioned but not "Cast on, Bind off'. I clearly need to check that out. Please do talk more about books!
What a lovely round up of books. We are EZ twins. I have the same three. I have to go check out the newer Vogue book in person. I’ve heard lots of positive things about it, but need to see if I have the new content in a different resource before I replace my older copy.
Hi Libby, I browsed through your ravelry items but I can't find the sweater with the lace back that you wear in the beginning of this podcast. Can you please point me to it? Thanks Carol
Loved your comment about che king out books at the library. Arrived at the library really excited….no knitting books. I do live in a country town. So disappointed.
Thank you for sharing these books with us. I am a beginning knitter and often wonder where to start. After watching this video, I feel I should probably start with the "Cast On, Bind Off" book, then next go to Elizabeth Zimmerman's book for beginners, then maybe one of the encyclopedias of knitting. I am a tactile and visual learner. While hearing helps, I must have tactile and visual to learn. I love having a physical book in front of me so I can highlight or mark something to which I feel I should really pay attention or that helped me get going in a procedure or pattern. Thank you again for these recommendations of helpful books. I truly enjoyed watching this video. It is the first video of yours I have watched, but surely will not be the last. I am now subscribed to your videos. God's blessings to you.
Hi again! I’m such a massive fan of books, so I especially loved this episode. Thank you, as always, for these recordings-I really look forward to them. I’ve just recently invested some money into some knitting books, to help me with designing, as I’m hoping to head down into that particular rabbit hole :-) I would love to hear about the books you use more for your design work too, please. I’m definitely going to check out the “Cast on, Bind off” book. Cheers ;-)
I am so happy I found you! I have been teaching myself how to knit from RU-vid for 3 years now. My goal for next year is to construct my own sweater. I ordered myself the Vogue ultimate stich dictionary and the ultimate knitting book to help me. I am so happy to have found your recommendations as well. Living in Israel, I can't go to the library to find knitting books and I have no knitting friends. So anyone in the virtual wold is just a joy to find. I will be listing to all of your podcasts from now on. You're an absolute joy to listen to! Thank you!
Your videos are always so fun and informative! It does help that I could listen to you read the phone book, I love your accent and your soft tone. I have knitted Lauriel from Little Red in the City, it was a wonderful learning experience, and the sweater fits beautifully. The entire book is a joy.
Thank you very much , I love books and I have a couple of your recommendations but I must find the Little red in the city that sounds like a must have , thanks again great vlog, cheers Karen
