For the past 3 years I have been recovering from a pretty serious illness. There have been countless times where I have been curled up watching your adventures and smiling from ear to ear. Thank you both for sharing what I think are the most genuine liveaboard videos on RU-vid. You have helped me get through some pretty dark times and with all of my heart I thank you. I wish both of you the best of luck in your future endeavours. When I put Killarney back in the water in May I will raise a glass to Bora Bora. ☺🍺
Wonderful drama free crossing - great to have you back. Just a quick note about why so many people think you are the best. Have you noticed on many other sailing channels, many of the men are either monosyllabic and curt or a little smug or incompetent or (and this is the biggy) just plain old infuriatingly OCD - it's their way or the highway - and they run their boat like a mini fiefdom with their partners just agreeing to keep the peace. The both of you are down to earth, a great team, you obviously respect each others skills and attributes with out much ego or preaching to the audience. That's why we like you guys... I hope you don't stop you tubing. Big respect.
I have always looked eagerly for your next video. It's been several months now since the last one Ep048 on your return to Farmouth, UK. Will you be resuming your sailboat travels anytime soon? In any case, I wish you both the very best!
right........ so......... where next???????????? seriously, what happens now? this has been such a refreshing few weeks watching these videos which for some reason only dropped into my feed very recently. congratulations on a fantastic trip and thanks for sharing. lush boat, lush crew, lush journey! bit gutted its over..... like going back to work after a great holiday. boo!
Well you two sailors ,I watched you both On my massive 120in x 96 in 4K projector screen with bose audio last night with a tequila sunrise and I must say I’ve watched all your episodes as I’ve enjoyed them all so much .THANKYOU
I was the same as Dave0549 thought I wander where they are ,as the videos were when you wished and when you had the time i dont blame you 3 years wow ,now the question is as that was July where are you now did you settle back in the UK ,or think no lets do more advenures ,I am still in Tenerife if you are passing ,we will just have to wait till EP 49 if there is ever going to be one ,thank you for letting us follow your journey SO FAR
Just loved that video guys. But, did you have to mention fish and chips, Pasty or Ale!!! ? 😉Been waiting for this and it was worth the wait. Thanks for sharing. Sail Safe. Ant, Cid & the Pooch crew. Eating Pizza, and drinking vino local, Gaeta Italy.
I have watched you guys for the last three years, as well as Delos of course! Great videos, I have to say I am a little bit sad your journey is over but wish you all the best in whatever life brings next for you both.
Thanks for sharing the final leg of your adventure with us. I do hope that you continue to post videos from time to time. I believe you could go to the market and get petrol and it would be an enjoyable experience for us.
We are also full time cruisers (in a much smaller and lighter boat) and for my wife and i, you two have been the ultimate cruising couple with the ultimate cruising boat. Will never forget you changing a thru hull mid Atlantic - watching that gave us the confidence to change one of thru hulls (without hauling), mid marina :). Similarly, we will never forget you guys baking over a hot oven in the tropics. Wishing you both well.
Congratulations on making it full circle and back home. I’ve enjoyed following along watching your vids. What’s next for you guys. That’s the big question. Hopefully more adventures to come. If you ever make it back to Beaufort maybe I’ll see you there? Safe travels.
Rarely do I feel a connection with strangers posting videos on RU-vid. Thank you both for providing such wonderful content over the course of your trip, for sharing the good and the difficult and for sharing yourselves with all of us. I will truly miss seeing both of you! My very best to you from Canada, you’ve made me smile more than you’ll ever know, brilliant job!
Must have been magic arriving at your home country again ...can't imagine how you stop yourselves from shouting aloud "have you any idea from where we just came "??? ...But no ...just a quite fish and chip dinner with a pint ...love it ! Very civilised indeed 😁
Wow! We know you made it back to Blighty but it was worth watching you do it. You've been an inspiration for us so and we are following in your wake albeit a few years behind. We hope you aren't giving up the sailing life but if you have chosen to follow a new dream, all the best. We've loved your videos and hope that you keep up the vlogging no matter where life is about to take you, thank you ❤
Thank you, great to see such a relaxed and competent couple doing long passages. Have followed you right from the beginning. At least one couple who won’t be switching to a catamaran! I would keep a strop around the boom for the mainsheet attachment. Metal gives way without warning and it’s difficult to check unless you have specialised equipment. A rope or webbing strap can be checked an easily replaced
Greetings from Culatra !! I’m off to Madeira in a few weeks, have altered an old headsail I had on board to fly “simbo” like yours, any tips?? And how easy was it to reef the main when running downwind with 2pole 2 headsail rig up ?? Great videos well done and many thanks
I was just thinking a couple of days ago 'boy it's been a minute since my favorite sailing couple posted a video. I wonder how they're doing.' And here we are! As always, you're wonderful and I love you. Thanks for taking us along :D
Yep, Was almost worried - but had faith :) Glad you got back to Blighty OK - but kinda sad you wont be posting anymore vids from exotic places for a bit. Green with envy - totally love you guys.
Don't you find life ashore rather boring now after all your adventures together at sea? Such a wonderful sailing couple and miss you being out there allowing me to live an exciting life vicariously through your day to day adventures
Please don’t let this be the final episode! So keen to find out more about the arrival home, how it felt and your plans thereafter. You guys have been the best sailing vlog by far - sadly I found you too late but I promise I’ll be a gold sponsor / patreon if you decide to go cruising again (and I so hope you do)! Your content and editing has been perfect for my tastes, lots of sailing, a bit of ashore time, not too much music and plenty of inter-personal insights without being cheesy. There are 100s of other sailing channels but none as good as yours. Please don’t forget how much enjoyment you’ve brought to others as well as yourselves...
Hello Bora Bora! What a nice surprise to have yet one more episode to cheer me up in the worst part of the Danish winter. How do you handle the VAT status on your return? I hope a whole new season with 58 episodes will start soon... :-) Take care
Glad you're safely back in home waters, just can't thank you enough for bringing us all along on this adventure. As I do my day trips and long weekends on my trawler, your videos gave me the freedom to dream of really big open waters..thank you thank you thank you!
No never an office! We've got a land based project/business we want to set up so working on that for now. But looking forward to using the boat this summer and re visiting some favourite spots along the south west coastline
WELL DONE , Loved following yous , I'll say it again the best part was that solid dodger makes life on board so much pleasanter , Well what next -9 to 5 , lawns . Trust me it's going to be hard , good luck for your future.
Great video from two very unassuming sailors , guess it’s back to earn some bucks now before setting off on another adventure . Would love to know where exactly you are now 25/05/20 ????
Any updates? I’m not on FB so only get any news here. A friend recently bought a Salar 40 after watching your comfortable cruising in your similar Victory. I hope we hear some follow-up or close-out message from you guys?
Hi Guys .....feel abit dissappointed . We follow you for three years then you arrive back in the UK have your fish and chip then nothing . No thanks for following you ,no mention of your future plans just emptyness . Feeling a bit let down . Anyway i wish you all the best whatever you choose to do in the future . Regards Terry
I have to say I always throughly enjoyed traveling with you two!I hope you are both very happy now and every now and then I will watch Bora Bora like you are still out there cruising around. All your episodes are very good and I never get bored and want them to be over.😊
45 years ago when I first got the bug to go sailing I used to look at people in their yachts sailing around the world and think that because they were doing it they must be 'experts' or properly professional. Sadly over the decades I've observed this is not always the case. Btw, next time make a strop, Prusik hitch it around the boom, seize a thimble into the loop then shackle the sheet to it. Never mind about pasties and a pint in Falmouth, go buy a good book on basic seamanship and ropework.
Thanks for all the videos documenting your adventure. We have a 1970's centre cockpit ketch and would be really interested to know how your solar panels are attached to the guard rails.
Hi guys , I’m late to the party and have gone back to episode 1 , any chance you could take a picture of your solar panels mounting , I’m in Falmouth is Bora there ? love the honest non dramatic way you approach the videos . Best of luck .
Thanks for editing this final video of your trip . Appreciate the book end. I do hope you get inspired to do more trips and to post videos. It's been throughly enjoyable following along. Cheers Warren. USA.
As most people have said below, it has been such a treat to ‘travel’ with you both over the last three years. Bittersweet, I am sure, coming home. I followed your track as you came back across the Atlantic last summer, and I’ve deliberately put off watching your last episode as I didn’t really want the journey to end... Took a lockdown to finally do it. Stay safe, you lovely couple.. Thankyou
G'day guys. Haven't seen you guys for a while. I'm sure all your other audience, like me have been hanging on, with baited breath for our next instalment. You see, you think it's for you, it's actually for us. :)
It's a great bit of kit, it steers better than I can most off the time. Very occasionally conditions confound it, it doesn't like super light wind so we switch to the autopilot. The big bonuses are it uses no power, it Will not jibe in a wind shift and it's quieter so I sleep better. Sorry for the slow response and thanks for tuning in.
