Thank you for this series which I have followed since the beginning. I have a 1968 series 2, 2+2 which I am recomissioning, and watching you is giving me a good understanding of what I have to do. Mine had sat untouched for 30 years and I have managed to get it running and driving but still a lot to do. Keep up the good work, and thank you.

Haha, you’re right, I’m incredibly old fashioned and am definitely owing at getting a decent impact wrench. There is a small benefit of feel in knowing when you’re about to shear a bolt or strip a thread in doing it by hand but point taken, I could definitely do things more quickly! Great video. Enjoyable for us, plus it will be invaluable when you get to put it back together! I have been quite fastidious with the labeling and photographing when dismantling my resto, but I still have the occasional black spot. Enjoying seeing your progress.
Thanks Steve, very kind of you! Yes it’s good to have a way of staying organised with everything! I’ve just got 10 large storage boxes and made additional shelving in the workshop as I know I’ll need it when I strip the car to a bare shell. Next episode coming soon!
@@fossewayclassiccarworkshop has it started playing up,worn out ,burning oil etc or was it always going to be restored. Only commenting because i thought it was a usable e-type, just needed refreshing or is it one of those " on closer inspection " great videos . Jon
Thanks Jon. The car was restored previously in the 90’s (details unknown) and has only done minimal mileage until 2014 then nothing until now. The project started off as a recommission which would have amounted to a full service, run it and hope alls well. Now that it’s a full restoration, the engine is a bit of an unknown quantity and cosmetically looking tired, so as I’m shipping the car to Australia to my brother when it’s finished it makes sense to do a full engine overhaul too so we know it’s spot on.
