It looks like the paint blew in really well in the end, a few years in the sun yellows the lacquer and darkens the shade. What a great car to own. I think the Pininfarina tweaks to that shape were spectacularly good, such a clean look.
I always enjoy your videos. Hat's off to Geoff for helping out with the sunroof too. I used to own a Series 3 XJ12 as a daily drive with a sunroof and it was a splendid car. I do miss it.
What is the name and code of the colour please? I have a 1981double six vanden plas in metallic coral and your colour is also a favourite. Sets the car off beautifully. Also have a 1980 4.2 vdp the same colour as yours and quotes for a full respray job like yours in NZ are also horendous now $20k + since covid.

I own a Daimler Double Six lwb 1995 model. I'm told the Harmonic Balancer is faulty thus car failed its MoT !!! This part is no longer made nor available but someone says it shouldn't fail and maybe the garage is at it !!! Anyone have any advice ,? The car is my pride and joy and I don't want to lose it.
I have a 79 Daimler sovereign that I am restoring (in a shed for 20 add years). I saw that you had removed and restored the head lining. Can you please can give me some tips on how this is removed etc? The lining in my car is drooping and badly in need of attention.
Hi Rod Everyting just clips in remove sunvisors and interior lights first Then side panels and window pillars be careful not to damage the panels and clips as they are 30 plus years old. I use a special pry tool
