Howdyyawl from the land down under. Holden's. Nothing smells like a holden interior. Easy to drive, nothing fancy, easy on the eye. Ä lot of families were carried around in one or another. I used to work a GMH at Elizabeth SA. Miss them greatly, shame. Nice to see some one bringing them back to life & in use. Keeping it real😊

@backshed5295 Год назад
I’ve had that comment a few times now but it’s not a safety issue, it’s cosmetic. I think some inspectors hate life and old cars and make stuff fail but you have to show me the rule that fails a cracked horn pad etc. I’m not saying your wrong I’m saying maybe your taking it to the wrong people.👍🍺

@@backshed5295 Sorry but no, Vic is getting tougher probs because we don't have yearly RWC. I can guarantee you 100% in Vic the 1st thing they would say is "New Windscreen" without even looking at it then go from there.

I would have tumbled some marbles to loosen the scale inside and then lead wiped the holes. It’s good to see period correct repairs being done it fits in well with hq nostalgia. I know it probably had to be done but that underbody surface rust was really part of the charm , it give it that abandoned on a desert track feel.

Loving it. As for the fuel tank, use POR15 U.S standard tank cleaner and liquid membrane> KBS also makes the same product. Once it is in you will never have an issue again. I did my tanks over 25 years ago and it is still good. It is designed to fill all those pin holes as well as getting between the tank and your patches via the old holes. Only way to go.

Another good way to clean out a gas tank is to take a couple of handfuls of nuts and small bolts put them in the tank cover the holes strap it in the bed of your pickup and drive for a while. the moving nuts will clean the inside of the tank

Great content well done. For heaven's sake resist the temptation of dropping a v8 into it, that has been done to death. Nothing wrong with the 202. For a few extra horsepower advance the timing beyond factory spec. BTW, the air cleaner on it is from a an 'emission control' six. Diff ratio is probably 3.36, so it likes to cruise at 80kph.

I know what you mean about wagon fuel tanks. I'm trying to find one for my XY wagon. Just can't get them. You must have fairly relaxed rego inspections. It passed with a cracked steering wheel and horn pad. In WA they failed my tunner because I didn't have the cover for the fuse panel
@backshed5295
@backshed5295 Год назад
I’ve heard that before on my sedan video about the cracked steering wheel but a pink slip is a safety inspection? How is it a safety thing? It’s cosmetic. I think the other guy that said the same was in VIC . I think some inspectors go on a bit of a power trip sometimes as I’ve had some craziness here too but genuinely safety items 👍🍺 maybe your inspection guy is the drama

Good to see you back Mick. Yet another quality video. What a nice daily driver it has turned out to be. I thought you were from somewhere out the bush and your test drive confirmed it. Muswellbrook is where my dad’s family are from until they all moved out to Denman. Your bloopers are classic. Cheers 🍻 and what is next on the list?

Howdyyawl from the land down under. It mayB the fuel modual behind the dash. Also , might wanna change the banjo crown& pinion to bring the revs down. Otherwise, nice bus. I had a HZ wagon, convert to 4 speed mincy. Keeping it real

Interesting seeing this stuff being bought back to life, my neighbour was so proud of his (bought new) that replaced his beautifully immaculate HR. Also, loved hearing 'Rockin' all over the world', would have been playing on that cars radio only months out of the showroom.(depending on your year.)

Damn I really like the looks of that car. Wheels, tires and stance make the looks on a ride. Man I felt your grief when you moved the gas tank. I heard it when you set it on the ground. Can't believe you rescued it, outstanding sir. Man I never seen anyone use vise grips that way, not so sure if I will try that one. Just curious there is a section of frame above and a little right of that control arm. Is that a crack? I know the feeling of the domino effect, my satellite, just wanted to freshen the 340 and then put in a 5 speed. Yep, got the frame connectors, posi rear, air shocks, oh shit lost focus, don't forget the interior. Oh hell lost my mind. Love your indepth narration throughout the video. Thanks so much, keep building. My latest thing is a buddy of mine, gave me a gas powered golf cart. This can't be good. Cheap gear heading, I hope. Not a chance.
