Your desk is actually called a barrel desk because the rolling part is a solid piece where as roll tops are slatted - tambour.

I love sales like that were you need to dig. Most people won't dig so I think you have a better chance of finding something good even if you arrive at the sale late. I absolutely love that desk...that is definitely a keeper. Congrats and thanks for the video. NJ

That old satin from old gowns is so lovely. It is a thicker weave to the material and just moves and handles so differently then the thin satin they use today.

When you two get finds like that desk...i think to myself...that item is coming home. It will be so loved and appreciated for the craftmanship and purpose that it was intended for. I dont get from you two that it is only about the money the way some other channels may be, i feel you both curate a home for the best vintage stuff you come across. *ABSOLUTELY!!* :D :D :D That desk is AWESOME!!! We replaced a mid-century oak teacher's desk we had. Sold the teacher's desk for $85 and put the STUNNING roll-top (some people are calling it a cylinder desk) in it's place and it looks *AMAZING!* =D And.. with the sale of our old desk, it only cost us $15 to upgrade to this awesome antique desk! =)

I would much rather watch you two go out and see the things and the people who owned them and their sweet animals than watch a haul of clothes in someones home. The excitement of the dig is what thrills me. I am not able to get out and do the dig anymore so I love going with you. I can smell the dust and odor of the old things you find because I have done that myself. Keep up the good work.

We were there quite awhile.. I'm thinking at least 2 hours or more.... :) We were able to view alot of it, looked in a lot of the boxes.. I'm confident we got to see the majority of it. :)

blue and white tile could be used as a trivet to sit hot things on to save your counter. just glue 4 small clear backings they put on art frames for the feet. and your good to go.

WOW!!!!! HUGE SCORE!!!! I live for digger sales like that. Depending on who did them, and subject matter, you can probably make a lot of money by removing the plates from those Bibles and some of the paper out of that scrap book. Figure $10-25 a plate online in a half way decent frame(if you're like me you have a lot of them around), maybe more if the plates are made by well known engravers. Just my 2 cents, but I think you have a lot more money there than you may think. Scrap books are tough if they glued everything down, but it looked like there was some good stuff in there. Cheers! & Congrats on that desk. I'd have bought that in a heartbeat at $100.

Wicked awesome finds.... You should go back again and recheck... Never know what you missed.... Great prices.... Isn't it amazing how neat and beautiful the penmanship was years ago.... Legible and artistic.... My grandfather taught penmanship, at the old college locally... He was living in Ohio and offered the job here in Massachusetts... Today, kids aren't taught cursive nor can they read it.... Patty

OMG!!! The roll top desk is incredible......just beautiful!!! What a great treasure that is. My dad's cousins on the farm in Wisconsin had a huge one they used for generations. For years iI lusted after it.... But was hesitant to ask to buy it as they were very old and family. Eventually it sold at a farm auction......(oh well😨). Yours is gorgeous. Wonder about its history??? And those belt buckles were very nice. Also great idea to put those old radio tunning glasses on EBay. Folks who are into radio restoration are crazy for that stuff. Gosh that was one great sale...glad you and Karen had such luck....linda

Believe it or not I *DID* remember your name today, even though you signed your name at the bottom! =) hahahaha!! :D Yes we absolutely LOVE that desk, it's going to live in our home with us. We had a mid-century oak teacher's desk, but have since sold that (for $85, so it really only cost us $15 to upgrade to this fantastic roll-top). We have put this roll-top in it's place and it looks AMAZING!! :D

I would suggest you put it on Facebook Marketplace. Because your viewers are watching you on your RU-vid so if they sign up to your Facebook then they can go to your Marketplace and if they're interested in something they can notify it. It cost money on eBay.

I'm rewatching this from a while back, and I think this is one of my favorite vlogs. You found great stuff at low low prices. When you said the white-haired guy reminded you of the Jurassic Park guy, I got a chuckle, because ... remember he carried around that came with the Amber top, that had a mosquito in it? Karen, love you guys. But always feel bad for you when you walk around sales loaded up. Try this simple trick. Empty one trash can or basket or box into another as you go through it. Then take that container, now empty, and fill it with your stuff! That way your hands are virtually still free to search. Easy carry away. Yeah ya might have to give a buck for the can or basket. Worth it in the end!

Oh geez, I can't believe this sale....Wow x 20! That's the prettiest roll top I every saw, and those dresses! By the way, that wind up clock is the exact one I scored a few months ago -- only diff is that mine has a purple face and is marked "silver jubilee" for the Queen (52 to 77)!

I know you probably already know this truck, but I've heard that too take off glue, using a VERY light steam setting on a clothes steamer, can unstick adhesive. There are solvents as well that I have heard can do the trick. I saw a video where the RU-vidrs got something that was taped together, and the comments suggested steaming and/or to get in touch with art restoration workers who will certainly know how to unstick stuff.

That sale is like a mini flea market! I absolutely love that desk, honestly I would pay 500$ for that. But 100 preferably! Wow that was a score! I loveee burl wood soo much! My piano has accent pieces made of burl wood, and the rest is made of beautiful tiger wood!!!
