Don't ever deal with ANYONE who speaks/writes negative regarding you. You are fabulous people ❤️. They are just jealous of you. That's what my Mom always said and I always stayed true to that.
I am from South Africa and they definitely are Scottish. My dad's parents were Scottish descent and there is a photo of my gran wearing it on her kilt.
I was going to say that we don’t have garage sales here in the U.K., but kimbevan5614 beat me to it! And car boot sales are interesting (people gather in a field and sell their stuff from their car ‘boot’ (trunk) - interesting, but mostly junk or stuff like baby equipment and clothes - not often great stuff like you guys find! Lots of people just donate stuff to what we call ‘charity shops’ - organisations like the Red Cross, Oxfam, Heart foundation, cancer and animal charities, amongst lots of other causes all rent shops on our ‘High Streets’ (Main street) in towns and sell what people hand in. You can find the odd ‘treasure’ there, but not generally at the bargain prices you find. That’s why we love your videos - look forward to every one coming out! Keep up the great job!❤
At the 9:40 mark, there was a stool/chair with little steps that flip out to create a little step stool. I have seen one or a similar stool in the last 2 videos. I always hope that Karen will pick one up and redo it. I have refurbished close to 100 vintage Cosco stools and about a dozen stools like the one depicted in this video. Super fun to redo
I loved Karen's satisfied sigh as she walks away carrying heavy paint cans!---Always re-load the card stock, 'cause you just never know who will follow along! Is there a reason you never shake hands with viewers when you bump into them...you used to be quick with the sanitizer when we were all masking up.---I attended the annual Old Town Days of a neighboring village this weekend, and the vintage car show was yesterday. There was A FANTASTICALLY decorated car with as much glitter and sparkle as he could fit on/in/under every surface. There was a big sign that said Do Not Touch so when I saw this fella sitting behind the car, I asked if it belonged to him, and when he smilingly admitted yes, I said "since I can't touch the car I can touch you" and shook his hand!
I have a modern version of the mission chair in a glider, so I can rock without the rocker 'walking'! I too would have loved to have bought that chair, but I'm 73 & planning a clearance sale next month. Stuff that now can go to someone else's home!
Yes we have been to a couple car boot sales here locally. It's where a bunch of people gather in a parking lot and essentially run their own garage sales out of the back of their vehicles.
@@rufusbrownstone6190 If I'm correct, it's the same as a flea market to us! Their car boot is the trunk of our cars! They'll gather in a field, set up tables at the back of their cars. I hope Kim replies & gives the correct response!
@@rufusbrownstone6190 They are organised events and mostly on a Sunday morning. If you’re a seller, you are given a time to turn up and shown your pitch, where you can lay your table out and sell anything you bring with you. As a buyer you are given a later time to enter, some Car boot sales are bigger and you will get food vans, cake stalls,,antique dealers as well as household sellers. I love going to them, unfortunately my husband doesn’t 🤣🤣. Hope this makes it clearer. K
@@alanatolstad4824 Absolutely spot on, I have replied. We do not have blocks, but I suppose you mean area ? The area where I live would be so snobbish if I did a garage sale, someone would complain about noise or parking 🤣🤣
O my goodness I also purchased some tiny seahorses at a sale I love them so much. i put mine on pearl hat pins and put them in a glass dome. yours are so much bigger i just love them ! Thank you for the tour :) Anytime I get to see your beautiful home is a damn good day :)
Another great episode! My Mom always loved sea horses, and I love them too, but mine are gold jewellery - don’t know what I’d do with the taxidermy ones! Great linens too - I have lots of those too, but rarely get them out because they take an age to iron! On to the next!❤️
I had some of those crystal earrings, and one of the dingle balls fell off, and I had no clue where 😢. This may be morbid and you can tell me "shut up Julie" but since you two don't have any children have you ever thought of who you would leave your magnificent home to once you both pass away? I have a wonderful idea if you haven't already thought of it and again you can tell me "shut up Julie" but I think you can leave it to your city or as I believe you refer to it as your province on the condition that they turn it into a museum! "BARON'S MUSEUM"
It is a nice thought, the city turning our home into a heritage museum for people to come see after we pass but I think that may simply be a grand illusion or a pipe dream. 😊
The vintage pillow cases, sheets and towels really made me smile!! I have a few from my great aunt and grandma. They are the softest material ever! Impossible to find new ones that feels like them.
Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. But, if your relationship at home is anything like what we see in your videos, you’ve struck the jackpot 😊
We are best friends and soul mates and love spending time together, and we are terrible actors 😂 so yes the relationship we appear to have is real and genuine and as good as it seems. 😊😊
@@kittyglitter8186 that was a good comment about the colored Canadian money. I do agree with them. I do live here in the US but find Canadian dollars easy to handle (shiny and strong) and color coded more or less. They don’t get dirty and wrinkled like our $ has a tendency to do.
