Fun fact: For the last 3 years, Tom’s group has had the winner. In 2019 he was with Martins, in 2020 with Novikov, and in 2021 he was obviously in a group with himself!
I know this will be one of the tightest contests and if Tom keeps his mind right he can pull it off. Martins is going to do everything in his power to put himself on top. You guys have made it so exciting for the buildup. You guy's deserve an award for the series and Liz, you are simply amazing! I truly thank you both. I will be watching everything you put out for WSM!
Thanks so very much Big Loz and Liz for your detailed resume and chance analysis for ever single athlete. It truly created real hype for WSM for me (all thanks to you). Your honest feedback and professionalism is second to none.
@@yan3066 There is more at stake defending your title than winning a 5th title. Defending your title is trying to prove that you aren't a fluke and catch a lucky win.
Love Tom. He's nothing but genuine. You really can see his progression to becoming a champion. His wife is fantastic too. I really hope he does well this competition.
@@Richard-tj1yh I think they will push him but not be quite as much as Martins will. I also think Tom and Martins will win their groups quite easily compared to Brian and Oleksii. It’s going to be competitive for sure but I think Tom and Martins will have a bit more of a head to head
@@PeteQuad It is sounding more and more like Tom won't be competing next year. If Martins beats him this year I could see Tom competing next year, but if Tom wins he is likely to take a long break.
So you guys have kinda painted yourselves in to a corner with this mega series. You realise that you have to do this before every major competition now. Now we're hooked and you have to feed our addiction.
Personally I’d like to see Luke win but I’ve come to like them all! So let the competition begin! Big thank you to Uncle Loz and Auntie Liz for providing this content.
That intro got me PUMPED! Tom is WSM!!!!!! Just letting it sink in one last time :) Loz has the best insight, telling new guys they dont need to win they just need to keep improving. wow. Great advice!
Tom one-motioning a 210kg stone in training was mental. I can't remember whether he did it multiple times after a stone training session but it was awesome!! Liz, you can take the rest of the day off!! You have worked your butt off to get 30 videos out!! Get ready for the spreadsheet party!!
Watching the change in Brian Shaw's training this year I don't think you can count him out as a favorite. Martins has been on fire since last fall, dominating the Rogue invitational, including the stones. If these three guys come healthy and make no mistakes this year's final will be insane. Of course how can you not mention Novakov, he never ceases to amaze. We've entered a new and exciting age in Strongman.
As a Missouri boy I can say it’s been my pleasure to view and like all 30 videos! This is my first ever comment. You two are absolutely fabulous and supremely professional!
Tom has this in the bag. Neither the squat, dumbell press or stone to shoulder suited him at Arnolds and it made him look bad but he is an absolute beast in every one of these events.
This will likely be one of the tightest WSM competitions to date. I wouldn't be surprised if Tom won, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it went to a few other guys.
Thank you for putting out this series. It's hard to say, "Oh, I hope [name] wins!" because it'd be great to see each of them win for various reasons. No matter who podiums, though, the fans win. This is going to be an incredible spreadsheet to watch. I hope the guys all have a fantastic time!
I think with these events, you're absolute spot on, tom is #1 and having seen his group now there's a very good chance he'll be a little more fresh than his key opposition. So exciting!
Absolutely loved this mega series. For future big competitions (Europe’s Strongest Man, Arnold Strongman Classic, etc.) it would be cool to have another athlete background series, but maybe just focus on the not so well-known or new athletes to those competitions. I mean, how many background videos of Brian Shaw & Martins Licis do you really need to make?
I think this is a great idea! Speaking on having repeat competitors showing up over and over, they could try lumping all the big names into a single "returning giants" kind of video and just provide a quick update on their recent performances and analyze the events for them. This series has been awesome for learning about the new faces few people have gotten the chance to see.
@@benjyperez5606 Exactly! Just don't have to do a full 20 minute breakdown of guys career who have been around 10 plus years. Awesome to do it the first time, but moving forward they could just address it with like "For more background information please see our previous video ... link in the corner" Just a thought, but I would love a series like this for WUS events, Giants Live, OSG, etc.
Awesome series guys! Really building some excitement. As far as the top contenders go, guys like Tom, Licis, Novikov, Shaw, I like them all and would be happy to see any of them win. Just hoping for a great event where everyone stays healthy and brings their best.
It’s impossible to pick just one athlete to root for. There are so many great athletes with different stories to accomplish: Brian going for the 5th; Tom, Martins and Oleksii all gunning for second title win; and of course Luke has been putting it all out to get his first too. It’s going to be one amazing comp!
I really hope Brian can finally get #5. But Tom, Martins, Evan, Novikov, Luke, Thompson, Maxime, and Mitchell will all be legitimate podium contenders. This will probably be the most contested final ever.
What about Janashia - also looking great? I think he has a similar chance as some of the others you have mentioned…all in all, this is going to be one of the best ever competitions in WSM ❤️ Edit - I don’t think Janashia will win, I just think he is as good as everyone else 😉
@@nicolakibble I genuinely forgot to mention him 😅. My point is proven though. It's the first time ever where a majority of the finalists are podium contenders
I’m feeling very nervous and excited after watching all 30 and especially Tom’s! Really want him to win his second, almost wish you didn’t big him up too much 😬 as you always say, anything can happen in strongman! Also hoping Oleksii can do one of his amazing all heart performances 🇺🇦 These videos have kept us truly entertained whilst on our hols in Wales and looking forward to the spreadsheet parties 🎉
Awesome Uncle Loz & Aunty Liz, you guys made Tom's intro to be the most climatic of all due to its last eps of this mega series. And thank you so much for your contents. This is by far the best of the Voice of Strengths contents ever made, not just "look at me strong" content. All over the board, both of you excelled the standard 😁👍🏼
My prediction is Brian Tom and Martin’s will be battling it out for number one. Can’t wait to watch it. This year definitely favors the big and strong rather than strong/fast
@@automaticninjaassaultcat3703 I think because he's only had 1 good major comp in the last 3-4 years, which was WSM 2021. He put his heart and soul into it and came 2nd, sure. But, the other younger guys have been getting better and better whilst I can't see how much better Brian can get at his age. Happy to eat my words but outside of 1 comp last year, Brian has been on a general downward trend for a few years. He did well at his own comp (Shaw Classic), which we'd expect as it's his equipment. But, WSM = 6th, 5th, 2nd the last 3 years, ASC = 8th in 2019 and hasn't competed since, Rogue invitational 21 = 7th.
The progress Tom has had on the deadlift, and Adam Bishop has not, just shows you how far he has come. And then there is the log, too. Man has so much potential. I think he can 2-peat this year.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this series! You both provide excellent analysis and suit each other very well! I would have to say you all have won the World's Best Analysis team!
Tom's WR stone for weight most recently was 286kg, for anyone who's interested 🤷🏻♂️ he also has the records for speed on I think every set of stones they use
I kinda hope Shaw pulls it off this year to tie the record so he can ease up. His size and age worry me, but he's not going to stop until he gets what he wants or can't go anymore.
@@jaredstaten5722 the times Tom has in those Atlas stones are faster than Martins, Martins has to make up for it in the medley, powerstairs, truck pull or deadlift
Would absolutely love nothing more than for Tom to take the win again! My gut feeling though says Martins bags it again through consistency, I love Martins so wouldn't mind this but I'd prefer to see Tom over anyone!
🙌 We made it, all 30 complete! Hope all the guys bring there best for the fans and have an awesome comp, injury free! With this line up whoever wins deserves it.
This year will be epic! All these athletes are in the best shape ever IMO! I think this will be the best competition ever! The groups are their own show all their own! Thanks Uncle Loz and Aunt Liz! This series was amazing and informative!
Genuinely sad this serious came to an end, it was great. I hope you do something similar with next Arnold Classic focussing the stats on that show of course. Thanks for all the hard work. The production quality of your videos has improved immensely as well!
Like all your videos of course Been a big fan of yours for 4 years now. Yes I believe Tom will do very well. Maybe be the 2022 WSM winner again. But the line up is so damned impressive, it will be a great battle ! Martins, Oleksi, Luke, Brian, and of course Evan. Looks like you will be pulling some all nighters again this year !! Will be following all your videos as always ! Thanks Loz & Liz
Tom must stay ahead of Shaw and Martins both are top notch contenders that could make it rough for Tom. Also, Mitchell, Boudreault, Novikov, Faires, will all be in great condition and could be spoilers at this competition. WERE READY LET'S GET STARTED. Looking forward to the Loz / Liz updates.👍Plus there are many other monsters that could take big points.
He does have a tendency not to do quite so well on max events. In particular with log, he has won/joint won the last 2 times he did log for reps/medley, but has been bottom half the last 2 times he did a max log.
@@Munter27 I don’t know if it’s the heat last year as said he was vomiting but he struggled in the Arnold’s as well. It’s a chink in the armour potentially
Like everyone else is saying, this series is the perfect hype for WSM and a great idea to bring information about all the athletes competing this year. Amazing content keep it up! 😃
I was at britains strongest man this year. I saw pa o dwyer set an amazing world record then Tom stoltman destroyed that world record and it looked effortless. It's going to be a nightmare for anyone to compete against him this year.
Great job on all these videos. Bring on Tuesday and bring on the spicy 2x wsm 🌶🌶. I agree if Tom is at his best which he should be then he wins. Licis, Brian and novikov aren’t going to make it easy though
Well, I’m finally all caught up and just in time! 😁 Amazing series, thanks guys! 👌🏻 I definitely fancy Tom for the win with these events. I wouldn’t normally ever bet against Martins, with his amazing consistency but if I just don’t see any events where Tom’s gona be dropping points! But… it’s going to be close I’m sure! Can’t wait!!
Great events this year for Tom! Everyone was speculating he would struggle at Flinstone press and in his training that is clearly not the case. Honestly think he could win that. Martins and Brian can beat him, but I think he has to be the favorite now with these events plus Martins not progressing as fast as he wanted on the jerk.
@@PoorDummIdiots agreed, martins always shows up on comp days. Honestly think it’ll be a battle between martins, Shaw, and Tom. I’d wager Martins and Tom as the final pair on stones winner take all
@@PoorDummIdiots Absolutely, Martins always surprises us because he peaks so well. I just think the Flintstone Press numbers are going to be higher than people initially expected so he might not place as high on that as I thought he would even if he manages to pull together his best.
Why do y’all do that. Just give a clear pick of who you think is going to win. Stop saying I want Brian to win but I don’t think so because Tom is a beast but I would t be surprised if Licis win it either. Just give a clear pick for who you think is going to win.
@@kingofthenorth4550 So many reasons: 1. This comment isn’t a prediction, its me commenting on how my assessment of Tom’s chances has changed based on recent training videos. 2. Because even if it was meant to be my prediction, that’s how predictions work. Even Loz and Liz add commentary to each of their predictions about why they choose it, how confident (or not) they are etc. 3. Because there are lots of possibilities and speculation is fun and interesting. If you want to know my predictions, based on what we know now: 1. Tom 2. Martins 3. Brian 4. Trey 5. Oleksii Also making the final : Luke, Evan, Maxime, Mitch Hooper, Kevin Faires
Loved this series! Thanks for the hard work you two, looking forward to seeing the results this week. Rooting for Martins, but I'll be happy with any outcome!
Really great content! You guys put so much effort into your coverage of these events, much appreciated! I wish that the American TV coverage was even a tic as good. Are you all not going to cover the show this year?
Tom has the potential to win loading, deadlift, bus pull and stones. If he doesn’t use too much energy in the heats and can stay with Licis in the flint stone and stairs I don’t think he can be beaten this year. If he drops too many points anywhere I think Licis will edge him out.
@@Hamisrodriguez yeah I’ve seen it. He won’t push too hard in training but he used to do a lot of behind he neck so on the day he may put up big numbers… maybe not either way i’m looking forward to this years more than any wsm in a long time
@AdamA2327 shoulder injuries effect stability massively you can muscle a Log or axle through on the day but a technical lift like behind the neck jerk I just feel like he will struggle... reply to be when he comes higher than 5th on this event and I'll apologize
