The idea of Devon becoming a coach/ hype man for these strong men is so fun. Ive always thought he himself was a pro wrestler in an arm wrestlers body, but now he could become a manager too. I can just see him yapping behind Brian Shaws shoulder like a Paul Heyman.
We still don’t know how good Brian has the potential to be. Rustam Babayev, Tim Bresnan, Todd Hutchings, John Breznk and others were freaks in ways you couldn’t tell until gripping up with them or going in in a real match where they doubled down on their particular freakish leverage advantage/lane. There are some guys that can put up big numbers on the pulleys and weight room but aren’t world class, like Andrey Smaev. It’s the art of pulling and being hard to pull.
@Baize86 brain Shaws grip strength alone probably better than 99 percent of all arm wrestlers, I think he is blessed with his form and body. Dude just needs the technique he will be fine on strength
@@MrCharrrlesdoubtful, Larry's problem has always been injuries because he just doesn't know when to ease up on his body. Brian will stop the moment something feels off and address the issue before moving forward. He takes care of his body way more than Larry does.
@@MrCharrrles not even close my man. Not even close. What Brian has right now. Advances him like four years into training. Strongest man on earth as of today, strongest grip in the world. Strongest back strongest arms in the world.
I'd say there's still levels between them. Larry is ripped and very strong for sure, but he's not a functionally strong as these strongmen. To do what Wheels does requires a different training approach. Sure he has gained enormous strength in the process for sure, but nowhere near what strongmen acquire by training for all around all out strength. Plus I'm pretty sure Brian Shaw is still quite a bit bigger than Larry Wheels. The sheer amount of human flesh he brings to the table is already way above what almost any other athlete on this planet has.
@MrCharrrles the difference between Larry and Brian is like the difference between you and Larry lol Brian shaw is one of the biggest and strongest men to ever walk the planet.
Not only is Brian Shaw highly intelligent and one of if not the strongest man to ever live, He's famous for his grip strength, even amidst other strongmen, He'd likely just turn most arm wrestlers wrists over without even realizing that they're trying to fight back, be fun to see.
A brian don’t like to lose so if brian commits it’ll really be something . He’s the only hope really vs levan . I think brian will pick up on form real quick
@@Baize86, Brian didn‘t really know what he was doing there. Imagine he used his grip strength which is comparable to Vitaly‘s the way Vitaly does. Game over. No more toprolling him. No give him some pronation and side pressure, boom! Certified Levan slayer. Ok easier said than done but what I’m saying is he could probably be at the level Leonidas is at now after almost 5 only after one year of training.
Damn...with your training Brian will destroy everyone in 2-3 years! Can't wait to see Brian compete. Please do a VLOG series with you training Brian. There is a huge potential to lift Armwrestling on another Level💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Very much wishful thinking. Yes Brian will be able to beat alot of people with basic armwrestling skills just because he is stupid strong. Once he gets into the upper echelons of AW its different. Being strong isn't enough. Prime example is the Devon/Todd Hutchings/John Breznk's of the world. Its gonna be 5+ years of actual AW training to be able to compete with the best IF he goes all in and granted there is no injurys.
@@dirtyharry2029 WRONG!!!! If Brian learns from Devan, he will have technical knowledge and straight up brute strength!! He’s x4 time strongest man in the world!! Clearly you aren’t smart enough to understand what’s going on here! 🤡
It could be a LOT less. Brian is also very intelligent and a very fast learner. Conservatively I'd say 2 years, but expect to see him snapping arms in 12-18 months.
I remember watching Brian Shaw and Juji collab arm wrestling. It blew my mind how fast he was at learning and asking all the right questions. I've been waiting for this announcement for 5 years! When I see his arm/wrist/hand it screams I'm the best.
@@nickk9593 Yeah long before Brian can even pull a Corey West or some shit Levan will have to make a choice. Retire and live or stay on his crazy stacks and die in his early 40's. There's no way this match up would ever happen. Brian could train AW exclusively for 5 years straight and the current top super heavyweights are still going to crush him. I love Brian Shaw he's the strongest man to ever live but he will never have the stamina to go against these guys. He's already 42.
You have to coach him, it would be unbelievable. The size and strength of Shaw with your knowledge on arm wrestling would be unreal, not only that but the content that we get during the journey as he progresses from training to match ups would be so entertaining.
Dude this is gonna be legendary, You are the Mr.Miyagi to Brian´s Karate Kid of armwrestling. 3:18 I believe he is the only person on earth to have lifted not one but two Thomas Inch Dumbbells(simultaneously). Not only lifting but incline bench pressing them as well. Truly a monster.
I started watching Arm Wrestling around the same time I started watching Strongman. It has always been my dream to see the two sports truly merged together... Love to see it! Amazing things happening in the Arm Wrestling world lately! 💪
I love it how my two favorite people in the world, you Devon & Brian Shaw, are getting together.. this is the best Non-Christmas present I've ever received.
I’m so stoked! You just made my Friday! To have one of the GOATs of arm wrestling to mentor one of the GOATs of strongman in his sport will be so fun to watch the evolution and friendship. Devon you’re one of the sole reasons arm wrestling is starting to blow up. I was hooked when I came across you armwrestling our US boys. All-time fave. Love the excitement and dedication you’ve devoted to this sport.
The thing that Brian has, above his strength/power, is his will to win. He's a winning machine, strives to be the best, BUT strongman is a very individual sport with very little 1 to 1 combat. IF he can be persuaded to give armwrestling 100% then yes, watch out, but as Larry Wheels has found, the transition is not easy, even if you think you have the tools. Excited for this journey, especially seeing the training and exchange of wisdom.
Love to see Brian in AW community but he won't commit fully to AW that's for sure and sooner or later, he will be back to his favorite, which is overall strength training, just like Larry.
@@DuK-2102 yeah its hard for them to let go. Big Loz ventured into AW too but soon drifted back to strongman when the "masters" came calling for the age category. I think there needs to be more work done on combining AW and strongman at public events etc, that may raise awareness and get guys with age or injuries involved greater than just 1 off stuff.
Devons going to train him, it will be fun. Not a chance Brian ever beats Devon. He likely won't get anywhere close. It's for fun. I hope Devon has fun and Brian does really well.
@@billj4525 i’m all for it man, but recently after EvW 12, it seems that Devon’s lost all motivation to keep pursuing the overall #1 rank in the world and has started to look for potential challenges for levan not realising that he still is the greatest threat to levan, i just want to remind him that he’s the GOAT and what made him that in the first place was his unyielding will to be the no. 1
@@brian1335 Forearms are close, but size won't matter much. Brian needs to get a lot stronger in arm wrestling specific lifts and bicep lifts, while also work on his technique for many many years on the table His hands and wrists are smaller than Levans for sure, by a lot actually. Brians hands aren't big when you consider how big he is. It would be a great accomplishment if Brian became a top 30 arm wrestling in the world, but I have a feeling that will be a very very hard challenge. Lets wish Brian the best though, hope he does well. Brians lifts will go up fast and a lot though when he starts training.
That's super awesome 💪 I followed Brian way before I knew about arm wrestling, so to see that come together is absolutely amazing. He couldn't get a better teacher 💪🎃
It would be sooo cool, If Brian Shaw would fully commit to Armwrestling for the next years! It would be so interesting to see him progress and beat everyone on his journey.
He's the size of Derek Smith, he has grip strength like khaled, he's a true professional to his craft, understands training, fine details, and he's one of the strongest people in the history of the planet. He has potential.
Imagine a Brian Shaw with the grip stenght of Felix and the static stenght of Eddie, I can't even imagine a monster like that, excluding Levan of course
Brian Shaw has 19.5 inch forearm and 25 inch biceps without any arm wrestler training for riser or pronation. Let that sink in. Now let this sink in, With proper training Brian Shaw cam beat Levan soon and hold that title for a long time to come. I'm certain brown side could beat a few top elites even now without training. Man o man this is very exciting to have Brain Shaw on this sport. Look out Levan, north America is coming for that title. Brian Shaw will only get better and he will get even stronger than he is now as he trains. Also his forearms will get bigger. Let that sink in as well. Levan is a ox of uh man but so is Brian Shaw. Maybe Brian Shaw can help Devan with bicep and side pressure as well. Once Devan gets a little bigger bicep and stronger side pressure he will be unstoppable. It's not to late bro you can do it. Stay safe stay vigilant much love to you all God bless...
If Devon of all people believe in Brian to reach the top level, who are we to judge ? He know his stuff better than we do, he see things we don’t. Just sit back and watch that behemoth of a man go through the training and contests !
I watched your interview with Sarychev. Thank you very much for this conversation. Come and visit us in Russia, give some master classes, we are all waiting for you and love you.❤
Brian is going to run through so many of the greats with your help. You're the best at what you do so teaching one of the strongest men that's ever walked the earth should be something great.
Brian Shaw is my personal favorite strongman. He is a great guy and very respectful. I hope this works out because I know he can dominate in the world of armwrestling.
Brian's starting level of strength is not only the highest EVER in armwrestling history but arguably the highest ever in history point BLANK! There is NOBODY out there more suited for armwrestling than him and we might get to see what he can do. Everyone's in trouble
Thor is basically Brian Shaw but superior in every way, as in much stronger but as well as faster and more explosive, and most potential for strength out of any athlete. But Thor has smaller hands than Brian that's one advantage for Brian.
@@pallin2198 He had nerve damage in his hand so it was always a weakness until like 2018 when he started winning grip events. Your second statement is showing that you are unknowledgeable on strongman, which is all good, most casual fans are. But your statement is false, Because the abilities of the strongmen are quantifiable, so it's not an intuitive or subjective matter. And this is not disputed by anyone knowledgeable on the sport, such as Big Loz, Matt Rhohodes, Neil Pickup, Colin Bryce, and really anyone who actually follows the sport and knows the abilities of the strongmen that Thor is the strongest and highest level of strongman there's ever been and much superior to Brian. Before Hafthor got stronger than Brian in 2018 he was only faster and more athletic, but then his strength caught up and then way surpassed him. You can run through the static strengths and events and there's simply no case to be made.
@@meginna8354 Thor being stronger in static events but having inferior hand strength compared to Brian makes it pointless to mention Thor in an armwrestling conversation stating Brian is unmatched. "Hey! Brian isn't the best, Thor is! Not in hand strength but in static lifts!" Like ok buddy but we're talking about the highest armwrestling potential. You need to do better.
In shadows clad, a villain's guise, Devon Larrat with sinister eyes. Green hoodie cloaks his deceitful might, Cheating in grip, his cowardly plight. His chicken arm, a feeble boast, In battles fair, he's but a ghost. With twisted wrist, he seeks to win, But in our hearts, his fate is pinned. So let us rise, against his snare, Expose his tricks, his grip unfair. For in the end, his reign shall fall, Devon Larrat, the weakest of all. Perfect poem on Devon😅
Brian is huge, super strong and would crush Levan in any strength discipline very likely. But being Brian Shaw alone isn't enough to beat someone like Levan who's also extremely massive and ridiculously strong and who conditioned his muscles and tendons for this sport during the past 10 years. You don't just appear suddenly, start armwrestling as a side quest and beat the strongest man who has ever lived in this sport ^^
Devon I am excited for you to meet Brian Shaw. You two are such great people and I am so proud to be living in the same time period as both of you. Thank you both for all that you do for society.
I have followed Brian for years. I have met him as well. He is like no other human I have seen. He will be a slow learner because he is a perfectionist! But once he gets it and gets confident! OMG watch out! He is a massive human! And he is Strong as they come!
Damnit! I can't wait for the first training video w you and Brian. Him/Levan would be a great thing to watch. After all Levan is bigger that anyone in AW, but Brian is bigger that nearly ANYONE period. Teach him all you can ✊💪🤘
You are without question one of the biggest if not THE biggest reason the money is beginning to flow. Your assessment of Brian's potential is something I'm greatly looking forward to. Also going to be fun to see you work together.
YOOOO I'M HYPED FOR THIS!!!! I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS LEGENDARY COLLAB FOR A WHILE NOW. WE FINNA SEE SOME CRAZY STUFF GO DOWN IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS!!!!!
Thank you for everything you do Devon. Representing Canada to the core for all of us Canadians. Brian Shaw is a huge name and worthy of all Lore in the armwrestling world.
I can't wait to see these monsters training together. Seeing devon giddy over the fact that he gets to train arguably the strongest man.... Maybe ever, is so cool. You can tell devon is on cloud nine
