What to do in Whitstable? Beach walks on Tankerton Beach and West Beach
Such a fab girls weekend in Whitstable! The weather was forcast to be awful with strong winds and heavy rain all weekend but we got SUPER lucky!
It's such a lovely town with so much to eat and see. The first place went to was the cheese shop :) The main shopping streets are Harbour Street (for more boutique style shops) and the High Street it leads onto.
List of places we visited:
1. Cormorant Cottage (via Airbnb)
Super cute 4 bedroom cottage right in the heart of the town. It's so convenient for the beach and some fab restaurants. It's a 4 bedroom cottage which sleeps 7 but ony has 1 bathroom. The host was also really nice.

2. Whistable Harbour and Market
Cute harbour with fishing boats and some restaurants (including the Crab & Winkle but we didn't get to eat there). Whistable Market stalls sell some awesome local products which make fab souveniers!

3. Wheelers Oyster Bar
Apparently the oldest restaurant in town. It's tiny and bright pink outside so you can't miss it. The food was really REALLY good but I only went for a "snack" while waiting for the girls because they were fully booked for dinner on both nights we were there.

4. Samphire
Cute casual bistro (actually right next door to Wheelers). Food and service were great.

5. Tankerton Beach
Such a nice walk along the water (heading east from town). There is a concrete walking path all the way up to the entrance of Long Rock nature reserve making it a really easy walk.

6. Whitstable Castle & Gardens
Lovely grounds to wander through but it's actually a wedding venue and not really a castle.

7. The Cheese Box
Super cute little cheese shop right on Harbour Street. We bought a selection to have back at the cottage and they were all SOOOO good!

8. Whitstable Coffee Company
Classic English cafe with really friendly service!

9. Old Neptune
Traditional English pub literally on the beach. Amazing sunset views from the seats outside.

10. Whitstable Oyster Company
Large restaurant on the beachfront

11. West Beach
Another nice beach walk along the sea front (heading west from town). This beach has much less people but only has paths along some of the way. One some parts you have to walk on the pebble beach.

Walk out the the Old Neptune pub (9. above) and head west.

So many little shops selling lovely products!
