If the truth be told this guy is wrong in all aspects. U can do shenanigans with your girlfriend but DON’T involve families. He underestimates the damage he has done. He only looks at the girl but he forgets the damage, embarrassement he did to her family. He seems unorganised, how could you sent a letter and not show up and not call to inform that you can’t make it on the day. He brought it upon himself cos the lady moved on to a new relationship
i felt her pain when she said her family prepared everything for his arrival, the least he could've done is letting them know that he's not gonna make it.

Lee is right. I couldn't have said it better. People must learn to appreciate what they partners do for them. No matter how big or small, show gratitude. If you feel like it's not up to your standards, communicate that and move on to find what you are looking for and stop wasting people's time

With my ex, I was forced to pay lobola because all of her friend are married, pressure she was giving, pressure she got from her family, it was too much, yes I was buying cars after cars, but for fact I was pushed to marry ,scared the hell out of me.I end up loboling some one who really loves me for who I am, not what I have. How can you send a letter having no money! No I fully agree with her here, I would never trust that person again. Just imagine the embarrassment of the whole family waiting and having to answer about what is going on , until sunset no uncles. I would be very shy to go back to a person I have stood up both her and her whole family. Marriage is not something to play with or make a joke about. When both partners are ready to take that step ... Then you go for it after in an agreement. My brother was under some kind of a pressure to pay lobola but he did not have enough money to do so and he ended up not showing up ... 😢
