Bro be realistic. Which country can you freely go and retired permanently without any restriction? Pls name 3 countries. Ok, just name 1 beside your country of birth or holding yr passport. Also mm2h with buying house is under the new PROPOSED policy and this has not been launched yet. So currently all processed and approved candidates are still under existing system. Putting a million or two ringgit as saving is a big ask?? 😂 bro even when you retired, you still need some liquid cash around lah...for yr next move. Dun tell me you only have 1mil in yr net assets and wanted to move to a new country and start a fresh life. Beside out of the min deposit, u can withdraw 50% for buying properties, for yr children education and for medical purposes. Deposit also will attract interest earned also. Now referring to the requirement of buying property. This has not been implemented yet. Even if they do, I dont see any cons of buying yr own property for stay if you decided to stay here for min 10 yrs. Staying yr own property will cost cheaper than rent, even for 10 yrs. And there could be capital gain at the end of 10 yrs. Some people just don't like the idea of owning properties especially from the west. But trust me, most asians will like to own one. Beside in malaysia, there are plenty of freehold properties for your selection, unlike Spore Indonesia Vietnam and Thailand. Also buying property in malaysia is easier. You dont need to partner with locals to get one unlike some other countries, and even for leasehold, your lease is generally 99 yrs (for brand new property) and not like 30 yrs in china vietnam or Indonesia.
