After years of construction and millions of dollars, the EPCOT TRANSFORMATION is finally complete... but was it worth it? In this video we will revisit all the now defunct attractions, restaurants, and areas that were removed or replaced by the transformation to see what we GAINED and what we LOST. We will do an objective comparison and come to a verdict by the end of the episode so come along with us on this trip down memory lane as we remember the Epcot of the past and talk about the Epcot of the future!

Great video Steve. There is so much I miss about the old Epcot. Definitely removing the fountain of nations was a miss but what we have now after years of walls is disappointing.

Yes Mark! Disney has added some good stuff like Pandora and Guardians but also has had some misses like World Celebration overall. 😥

Journey of Water makes more sense in Animal Kingdom. So many things could have been added to improve Epcot, they just made it less fun.

Agree. It feels like Disney forgot was Epcot was all about. Kind of depressing.

I agree. Although some parts of it is lovely, I much rather have the older version of Epcot. I miss the fountain. The fountain was so cool, Loved the water show with the music of Yanni. Although I really didn't care for innoventions, it's a bit cooler than what it is today. It seems to plain. The original version of Club Cool was better.

I keep looking for the 'WOW' factor of progress and so much of it is now 'meh' at EPCOT. Think of the old 'Worlds Fair', full of technology, progress and innovation. Tell me where any of it is! I don't see it! When I see Universal EPIC Universe, now there is the 'WOW' factor. This is what's missing at EPCOT. Part of the EPCOT acronym is 'Community of Tomorrow'. Now I see plain empty wasted space.

@@TheNobleWay Just one more item to add. Hotels! Disney is adding new Hotels that seem generic in nature without anymore theming. Just look at the new Hotels at EPIC Universe! You can't stop looking at these! I plan to book at stay at one of these new Universal Hotels just due to the new look. I don't get excited of any of the new Disney Hotels. Disney has lost its way. It's heart breaking really.

If World Celebrations had a fountain I would have loved it a lot more. I think the area looks cool but the lack of a fountain is a huge loss

@@TheNobleWay Also the loss of the Innoventions Area Loop hurts the most... I like the World Celebration loop but the Innoventions loop is my childhood. Epcot has strayed so far from its vision which is sad. Also the worst casualty was IllumiNations. Harnonious was awful and Luminous was barely any better. Neither shows live up to IllumiNations and the fact that they dont have original instrumental scores or appropriate theming/messaging. Luminous is a disgrace to Epcot

Yeah it’s sad! I realize they did the fountain in the entrance as an homage to the Fountain of Nations but it’s not the same at all and the garden is just meh 😥

@TheNobleWay the entrance fountain is a reproduction of what was originally there. They need at least one in the center of the gardens and personally I think several extending out to the edge of World Showcase Lagoon would be even better.

Well?...we stared at a bomb-crater for 5+ years. I can't tell you how many times I rode the monorail just to see over the walls and photograph the hole....and literally saw nobody,....not one single person working on the site. I did this at many different times for YEARS. I guess we at least have something there now. Anything...even a flat concrete slab with a rolling food cart would have been better than a bomb crater. I'm sorry,...I can't pretend that this entire area is actually "good" anymore. Burbank is driving this company straight into the ground. Epic Universe will steal ALL my Disney money in the next few years.

Bob Paycheck (aka Chapek) apparently didn't have as much influence on the Disney Co's budget & creativity as Bob Iger did & does. Although the two of them probably share a lot in common politically, the judgment of Iger has trashed the Disney brand far more than anything Chapek has done.

I grew up in central Florida going to MK aaaaaalllll the time. When EPCOT opened we went, nodded, and said, "Nah." We hardly ever returned and I never developed an emotional connection to it, even World Showcase. It's my least favorite park by a mile and what they've built recently only confirms that.

Epcot overhaul is a complete failure just like everything Josh D’Amaro has done. Pay more and get less while erasing all the memories, nostalgia and magic. The creative and innovative Disney of the past is gone
