It's Filipino Spaghetti not Italian. It's famous (or infamous) for being sweet. Sauce made from Banana Ketchup and Tomato Sauce. Sausages are Filipino hotdogs.

I can attest that it is definitely not Italian! 🇮🇹 it surely is sweet, but I had no idea that it’s BANANA KETCHUP!? 🍌 🍝 😂 good lord! How is it red? And as for the discs - Filipino hotdogs!? MAMA MIA!! “What the HELL is JOLLY SPAGHETTI?” Thanks for clearing it up! It was fun to try (well…), and even though it didn’t appeal to me, I’m happy to know that it’s a firm favourite in Filipino culture 🇵🇭 and Gordon Ramsay reactions to one side, I honestly love the Philippines and it’s people. Just give me your beautiful adobo any day :-)

@@InvestedAdventure Banana Ketchups were invented during WW2 when there was a shortage of tomatoes. Its distinctive red color is from food coloring made to resemble tomato ketchup. No need to explain. Everybody has their own preferences. I rarely order the spaghetti, too sweet for me. I just order the chicken. Adobo is a different debate on its own, everybody has their own version. It also has a lot of regional varieties like the one you had in Legazpi. Adobado is usually the sweeter version from Ilocos or Visayas.

the reason why filipino spagetti is sweet its because it meant for kids... in philippines its a tradition to have a spagetti in a table every bday party for kids ... and when the first jollibee was founded their target customer is also a children that why their mascot is a cute bee and their spagetti is sweet ... they accept bday party celebration inside jollibee for limited person or small family occasion and all menu is for kids.. and today they still maintain all their menu and just added for adult and young at heart and the reason why they dont change the taste of spagetti is for the memory of their childhood when they taste their first jolli spagetti

you have to eat the Fries while its hot.... it will become soggy afterwards Expect sizes differ asian serving size are different from other serving size That is not a carrot. Sorry but its a hotdog. Italian spaghetti is NOT Filipino spaghetti italians use tomato based ketchup in a sour side while in the Philippines we use Banana Ketchup which is in a sweeter side

Erm, I’m a 35 year old man who has been travelling the world solo for 10 months… I’m aware that hot food is best consumed whilst still hot… you have seemingly overlooked the fact that I cannot control time and teleport food 😂 Sizes weren’t mentioned and didn’t seem different to what I’m used to. I find it strange that erroneous meat would be included when there is commonly halal options advertised in places - what if I didn’t eat beef or pork maybe? Banana ketchup is a crime!

You now know Filipinos love their food sour, salty, sweet These are the flavours that you will taste w Filipino food. Sweet because sugar is a main crop there, sour because it was used to preserve food , same as salty. We don't do subtle flavours and always with rice as it balances the strong flavours

Such a great summary! Thanks for explaining things to me and helping further my understanding of the wonderful culture of the Philippines… adobo and inasal are my favourites!

Ooh, I see the word obnoxious in there. Shame you have to be as salty as the McDo chicken, just because I said something that you didn’t like. I’m allowed to freely express my opinion - I’d rather be honest than a cheerleader

filipino sphagetti is different from the one you used to. like the honest opinion but please, in another country or another continent keep an open mind to the food that you were tasting, it might different from the westener but its common for us! different style, different cuisene, different pallete
@InvestedAdventure
@InvestedAdventure 4 месяца назад
It sure is! I certainly kept an open mind in being prepared not only to try JB, but also the localised menu of our favourite fast food brands. Tastes do indeed differ - but I just cannot understand how this can be so appealing, when you guys have such fine taste in Wagyu fat adobado, for example, as I tried in Legazpi

Hot take! I knew that a cheerleader video would likely get a lot of local views, and whilst I didn’t set out to offend anyone, I gave it my honest reaction as a (western) foodie, and former chef. Do check out my two street food (albeit “gentrified”) videos from Salcedo and Legazpi weekend market in Makati earlier that week. The inasal and wagyu fat infused beef adobado is honestly the tastiest cuisine I’ve found on my travels

Brined, I think I meant. But yes, they absolutely do boil it in these fast food joints to avoid food poisoning. And then finish it with the coating in the fryer. Sous vide my friend. I was a chef
@polgonzales
@polgonzales 4 месяца назад
@@InvestedAdventure Souv vide would be too laborious for a massive fastfood operation such as theirs. Besides, one would normally souv vide and grill not fry. Some say a buttermilk marinade but that would be too expensive. I think it’s just seasoning, a good ol industrial deep fryer and impeccable timing. I agree McD’s just crappy. Only families with kids go there- not for the food but their playpens.
