Back in 2019 I spent a whole night in Helsinki airport due to a snow storm the made me miss my flight to BKK. So I just sat inte the Schengen lounge drinking beers during the night until I got a connecting flight back to Stocholm and then on to Bangkok.
Thats pretty shocking. Was there a shortage of any kind or strike that might have affected deameaning standard. I flew biz from BKK to Iceland on FinnAir. It was superb. So seeing the breaki presentation on PE is downright shocking

Mycket intressant och bra recension av PE! Hade tänkt åka business till Seoul i höst men biljetterna var så dyra att jag valde PE båda vägar istället. Flyger väldigt sällan så jag har inte möjlighet att samla poäng så lätt... Nu känns det tryggt inför resan även om jag håller med om att maten kunde vara bättre. Blåbärsjuicen och brödet till maten brukar vara toppen i alla fall 😊
I would have like to see the extent to which the seat reclined and the functionality of the leg rests. If it reclines as much as the old business class seats then that would be the major factor in saving a few £ € $. As long as it's comfortable enough to get some sleep in then it would be Premium over business for the savings (I'll eat beforehand as you did, lol)
Great design touches onboard, promoting Finnish icons. But the food presentation needs some work. It lets down any premium aspirations.Enjoyed the video.
Why is the airline of one of the world's richest countries so stingy with food? That is a TINY amount of food for a 13-hr flight in Premium Y. That pathetic cardboard box breakfast belongs on a third world railway service.
The meal service continues being a weak spot. Would it really kill to see just a little bit of extra investment there...? Everything else looks nice and tidy.
How tall are you? I'm flying Helsinki-Nagoya in a few months and looking at these videos have me a bit worried about my size (194cm, broad even when not overweight). I've booked a PE bulkhead window seat, we'll see how it goes...

They say Premium Economy will grow its segment. I am not so sure, as long as there are carriers with acceptable quality in coach. For me its either business (with sleep- and work-opportunities and elevated service) or paying for coach.
I see your point Anders. For me Premium Economy is perfect on a 6-8 hour dayflight. On longer flights than that I prefer Business. And there are definitely times that economy is a good choice. But on “medium long haul flights” I think PE is a good choice.
@@travelexperiencetv9916 Yeah, was going to say there's no economy seat as good as the Finnair seat. *MAYBE* comparing Iberia PE seat (which is *almost* 1 step above economy, but the price difference isn't justified by any means), but that Finnair seat looks doable for a long-haul flight. Wife and I did economy long-haul from ORD > AUH > SEZ two years ago when countries were starting to open after CoVid. I vowed *NEVER* basic economy on long-haul international flight again. We were lucky as I believe we were on a widebody with maybe 20 passengers in all of economy section. We had entire rows to ourselves so we could fold the armrests up and try to sleep. Still not as good as a premium economy seat like the one featured in your Finnair review. The response made by @Alexriga is just plain rubbish, if not bollocks. The Finnair business looks interesting and I've heard mixed reviews. Looks like it could be better than AF J-Class on their 777 (which I've flown and was fine), but food looks better on AF, but AF/TK are hard to beat for inflight food service. Finnair looks perfectly acceptable for PE considering the price point. Thank you for your review, sir!
thnx. That so called meal service is disgusting. That carton bit of something. How rock bottom can you get. No champagne. My husband and me prefer Air France. Plus they do offer LA PREMIERE FIRST CLASS. Thats heaven on earth. AF`s premeco is so much better. Plus British Airways. Vid very good.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I haven’t tried AFs PE. But agree that BAs is great. I definitely think that their food is better than AYs, but AYs seats in my opinion much better. And that is of big importance for me on longhaul. In general you can get great deals on AY and in total i would say it’s good value for money. Hope to be able to try AF PE soon. Safe travels!
Ce qui peut être acceptable en classe éco ne l est pas forcément en premium economy d autant que servir sur plateau pour une vingtaine de passager premium aura un impact epsilon et changera grandement l image de la compagnie a titre perso je ne voyage pas sur les compagnies offrant de telle prestations
N'oubliez pas que FINNAIR offre des prix imbattables en premium ( en business et en economy également) il est tout a fait normal que la nourriture soit moins présentable... Don't forget that FINNAIR offers unbeatable prices in premium (in business and economy too) it is completely normal that the food is less presentable...
@@kokomate5848 yes, their price point is quite good, especially coming from an American. US based airline tickets are damn near extortionate. Roundtrip from my home airport to BKK in JL-PE is about $4000. However, from BKK to my home airport roundtrip is always about $2100.
