Innovative seat, great mocktails, delicious vegan meals (and not 2 servings of the same items), AND scented hot towels?!? How’d they ever get Dan to disembark? Great review!
Dan - you are letting out my little secret. From Australia, Finnair has always been the best value business class to Europe from Australia (code share with oneworld carrier via hkg, sin, bkk). It gives such easy access to locations in Europe, yes with an addition stop but the connection the in HEL is quick it’s really not a problem. Please don’t tell anyone else!!! Love your work
Helsinki airport is easily one of the best airports I've been to. I love their luggage/security scanning machines. Everything is so smooth. And, on the other hand, we have Stockholm Arlanda :D
Thank you for informative and beautiful review. Finnair is my go-to airline and the fact that it's from my country, it makes me a proud Finn. I can't wait to try the new cabin 🇫🇮💙
I flew in this recently and I loved it. So much space and a full bed. I prefer this over reclining seats as I can sit however I like and again, a full bed! It’s like your own cocoon
that seat is really stunning. it solves so many problems and if as you say its comfy i am absolutly sold on the non recliner seat. and there is a costumized to the seat matraze! how amazing is that.
There are so many airline reviews on RU-vid but the reason I watch nonstop Dan is because his videos are fun and he also does a comprehensive review. He shows everything, The seat, The lounge or catering
1000% agree with you Dan. We have just traveled on Finnair over the holidays and they had amazing service in-flight, surprisingly the most comfortable business seats (I say surprising because they dont recline!!!) and the thoughts put into every details of their design. We traveled with our 5-year old and once the flight attendant overhears me tell our son about the cockpit, they invited him and the pilot greeted us. That will be an experience to remember for years to come for him! So kudos to Finnair!! P.s.: greetings from Bangkok!! we are also your biggest fan and watches all your videos. Looking foreard to your next destinations!
Thanks Dan, another great video. Finnair is my favourite airline but I was concerned about the new seats. You have given them a good rap. Will be trying them out later this year Singapore to Helsinki.
I actually booked a flight with Qatar and got rebooked to Finnair on ARN-DOH and I didn't prebook a seat but I could choose one of the Premium Economy seats without any charge 😁
I flew Finnairs new business class (A330) in august HEL-NYC and I was blown away. The food was great, seat was so private and cosy and service was on point. Love Finnair!
Seriously, this business class exceeds my expectations. this seat could be the trend for other airlines to follow. Furthermore, the lounge is really top class. Of course cannot compare with Doha, Dubai or Singapore. But this is spacious, looks comfortable, and lots of functions to stays hours inside.
I was lucky to try this from DFW to HEL and on a few LHR-HEL flights, and I have to say it is by far my favourite Business Class seat. The bed is perfectly flat for one, which is a thing that always bothered me with the old seats on Finnair a350s and the overall look of the cabin is just so classy and cosy. I am glad Finnair took a real risk with this seat and did not just go out and buy something to follow the crowd.
Great video Dan. I am really liking the style of videos you are producing at the moment! the best airline reviews out there in my opinion. I have flown this seat from LHR to HEL , but will try it long halu for the first time at the end of Jan as it is doing the HEL - SIN route. Looking forward to it very much. Unfortuanlety I think the Platinum wing is not open during my layover :(
Another great video Dan. Have been intrigued by this seat since it's unveiling and I'm glad to hear it lives up to the hype. Also did anyone else notice the foot in the cabin shot at 16:41
I’ve flown it and overall very good with one caveat - when using it as a bed there are two seat belts and neither is in a particularly great position from my perspective if you use them
As always great to see you,Happy New Year to you both. For someone whose first solo flight was in the 60s AND got to fly Concord on a few occasions, I have to say if I am going to be doing any distance flying, you've completely sold me on this amazing looking experience. Until next time, very best wishes to you both💥👊👏👏👏👌👋⭐'s💯✌💙💙
As a finn I always wanted to fly in Finnairs business class and now after such a long time I'm about to cross that thing off my bucket list when I fly from Helsinki to LA and then two weeks later back from LA to Helsinki also in business class!
I am a frequent Finnair user and find the service generally excellent but slightly different from your review. 1. The EXCELLENT Platinum lounge closes around 6pm (or did until December 2022) so there is no access for any any evening departures from HEL. 2. The buffet in the business lounge section, from my experience is certainly NOT to the same standard as the Platinum lounge and generally looks very unappetising. 3. You were lucky with the wifi. Cost is not so important to me as the speed/connectivity. Very hit and miss 4. Now my biggest gripe with Finnair is on the evening departures. Lights dimmed for take office then once airborne the lights come on full blast. Cabin crew will turn down light intensity if asked. The seat is very innovative and comfortable. The charging points do work and overall, it remains my airline of choice to the Far East, especially as the flight times have now increased dramatically with having to go south before turning left at Romania. Means a great long nights sleep. Great review as always NSD
I was so looking forward to those new business class seats for our nonstop from MIA to HEL last month. Unfortunately, our plane had not been retrofitted with the new seats. The "old" seats were comfy enough, but we were still so disappointed. We also had a significant delay out of MIA (due to a mechanical failure of CDG-bound plane which led them to merge those pax into our flight) which caused us to miss our connection in HEL to ARN even though flight crew and ground staff said they were holding the flight for us. They didn't - - the gate closed literally as we got there and the plane's jetway was still fully connected. We were put on a flight departing 90 minutes later, but by the time it was all straightened out, there wasn't even enough time to get to the lounge. Oh -- and we had a family of 4 with two children under 3 years of age (one an infant) in Business Class (right across from us). The infant screamed for 7 hours of the flight (which departed close to midnight) and the parents dealt with it by turning on all their lights, reading aloud to him and playing cartoons on the TV screen. FA's did/said nothing to them while 40 other people suffered. Nonetheless, I do agree that the Finnair experience is still better than many others.
@@larskeizer I checked and seems delay was not long enough. Also, we were flying on codeshare miles from AA. I did file claims but got only got an apology as response.
@@neresq Oh no, a toddler on _your_ expensive flight around the globe? What a shame - eager to hear what the FA should've done about it other then throwing it out. Society really unlearned how to treat each other as soon as a discrete amount of money is involved.
Thanks Dan for these videos. Not a special fan of Finnair but it ranks high for me nonetheless and I would be happy to revisit the business class when the opportunity arises Btw people usually do not realize how much work these videos require.
Great review! I just flew in this seat type (3L) from Stockholm to Doha and I was mightily impressed, after having been skeptical about it as well. Also agree with everything you said about the service and food quality. I wish Finnair flew to Australia!!

Well you can fly Helsinki-Singapore with Finnair and Singapore-Sydney with Qantas. Warning, the Qantas plane feels so outdated.
Well, now you can fly Finnair (or at least Finnair planes) all the way down under as Finnair will start operating some Qantas flights under a wet lease agreement.
Would love to try but i really hate booking business class ticket and have to be extra careful if it included the loaded luggage, lounge etc. and Finair is very tricky in that regards. Sadly most of EU airlines is going down that road.
Hey Dan, great review as always. But what about Aegean‘s catering which is made from Michelin Chefs. You just mantioned Turkish airlines catering which is also great, but I believe Aegean‘s food is, if not the best in Europe, definitely one of the best!!! 👍
I love Finnair! I flew business on the brand new A350s just before the pandemic hit from London to Helsinki. The plane, seat, service and vegetarian meals were superb. The only downside was Helsinki airport, which was horrible. I believe this airport has been upgraded since then (and did it need it!).
Dude, you crack me up! Seriously do like your show(s)/reviews you produce. Video production is top notch. Sound, lighting, camera angle's, etc. Have a great 2023. Enjoy, D.B.
Dan, Really enjoyed this video, this has convinced me to book my next long hall flight in Business Class with Finnair starting from London to connect via Helsinki, and will be to Singapore. Thanks.
Hi Dan what a great video 😊I’m flying Helsinki - dubai business class next month but I was worried because prior they use to serve this route as an intra Europe service. But I just got confirmed they are flying it as a long haul with long haul service 😀 And the ticket price from Copenhagen - Dubai via Helsinki was really really great. So I’m really looking forward to this flight ✈️ 😊
3:21, I'm all about the snow dude. So many people whine about it and I'm just thinking to myself "Why though? It is so wonderful, especially by comparison to a really hot day!"
Hi Dan, have you flown the man-hel route? I usually fly this round but this year finnair have changed the aircraft its worth reviewing. Helsinki is a beautiful city
WOW!!!!! This business class looks amazing and definitely better than any other business class on European airlines you've reviewed. Love the seat and the no recline feature. I will definitely book this flight for my next trip to India.
We flew Finnair from Helsinki to Singapore and back in business class. I have to agree with Dan. It is one of the best in Europe if not the best. We flew on an A350. Flights left on time. The crew were from Singapore and the service was amazing. I am 6'3 and I don't sleep well on long journeys but I have to say that I managed to sleep the longest in those seats. I think Finnair took a risk with these revolutionary seats and it paid off. Well done Finnair.
interesting and surprising (re their new J cabin). the only thing that deters me from AY are the long connecting flights in short-distance planes (more than 3 hours to HEL from GVA by example..).
Not sure about the table. I travel on business and need to work on the flight if it’s not overnight. The table looked tiny and with the hinge facing upwards, I struggle to see how a laptop wouldn’t wobble on it. As someone who uses an external mouse, I can’t see that fitting on the table either.
Looking to fly from Brisbane to Helsinki at Christmas and Finnair are definitely looking like a possibility. The business class looks interesting and their price point is pretty good at the moment.
I agree that would be a great video along with another documentary about Air Berlin and how they went bankrupt Kinda like the video about Etihad and Jet Airways
