Yaaay!! Hey Melanie 😀 sorry it took so long but I hope it was well worth the wait. Enjoy watching. That is so kind of you. Please do reach out if you’re ever visiting the UK! ☺️
Y'all... Sausage gravy and biscuits is a meal here. Eat it for breakfast lunch and/or dinner 🤣 we even have Lays potato chips flavored like biscuits and gravy
🍎 🍺 Oh I am from GA. The white gravy has sausage in it and you put on biscuits. The you my have grits and eggs. Yes grits are very Southern thing with or without cheese.
The J Morgan candy company is by our Historic 25th Street in Ogden Utah. We close down this street on a regular basis to host farmers markets and festivals. All the restaurants are individually owned and are amazing! We are about 40 minutes north of Salt Lake with the mountains as our backyard. Utah is a beautiful place with an incredible food scene in most of our cities. I even have a son that manages a phenomenal sushi restaurant in Park City. We offer everything from beautiful mountains, fantastic canyons and arches to even the desert. By the way I love your videos!
I agree with Melanie that Russell Stovers chocolate is NOT good! 😂 where I’m from (Illinois) it’s actually considered “the cheap chocolate”. Does not seem very flavorful to me, you guys will definitely be getting all my Russell Stovers come Valentine’s Day 😂
One day 7 hrs?! 😂 Maybe driving straight through, no stops, at 90 mph! I drove from Florida to California & it took me about 4 days. I really enjoy watching these because you’re getting a sampling of different parts of the country & you get to see that we’re not all just Hershey’s & Doritos.
Biscuits & gravy with eggs is my favorite weekend breakfast. The gravy is a while sauce with crumbled breakfast sausage, with white pepper added. Then scoop over halved baking powdered biscuits.
P is for Paper - I’m in Tennessee and make my grits long cooking with milk..so creamy and when I have leftover , I add cheese and then the next day I have cheese polenta that I fry in a skillet 🍳 and it’s so good 😊
@@ThisWithThem Yes! and 'hard' beverages are trending in the US. 'Mike's Hard Lemonade' started about 20 years ago, but lately, many companies are doing 'hard' drinks' like White Claw hard seltzer.
Don't worry, the Utah Truffle company's factory outlet store is closed, but they still can be found in grocery stores throughout Utah. other flavors of them that I like are: Chocolate Raspberry and Chocolate Orange
Watching ‘ Outer Banks’ too guys! What a great box, amazing range of tastes; loved the grits and the jalepino jam! Would have loved a taste of the apple beer 🍎🍻.
Ah no way! Hope you’re enjoying it too! Such a great box this week. So many delicious and new things to try! They were so amazing. You would have loved the Apple beer 🍎🍺 yaay
In USA we have snack crackers that little crackers (butter wheat or cheddar) sandwiched with cheese or peanut butter, usually 6-8 in a pack. The cheese crackers and peanut butter seem most popular. During pregnancy cravings Cheez-its dipped in peanut butter was one of my favorites! I think Alex should try it!
Ahh I think we have tried some of these. Not sure if they’re the same. But they were in a plastic clear packet with bright orange crackers? Does that sound the same? They were so delicious 😋 oh wow. Will have to get Alex to try that!
@@ThisWithThem I couldn't remember if you had tried some, those are the ones! I must say that the combo of cheese and peanut butter doesn't sound good but it works!
12 out of 10 Box!!! Awesome video. Makes me want to try everything...except the habanero chips... lol. I soooo enjoyed this video! You all make me feel like I’m sitting there in your living room with you, Tulips are my favorite flowers! 🌷 great box and video
Such an awesome box. Thank you Deb 🥰 haha yeah maybe don’t try those 🥵😂 so pleased you enjoyed it and that’s so nice to know we make you feel like you’re with us. That’s what we hope it feels like. They’re definitely one of my faves too. So beautiful 🌷
Snyder’s used to have a ranch flavor in the pieces and they were the best of them all! Very good mixing them with the buffalo. So sad they discontinued them.
I absolutely love red pepper jelly, which is slightly sweeter than the jelly you tried. One of my favourite hot appetizers to make is brie cheese, red pepper jelly, and puff pastry. You take one sheet of puff pastry, and in the centre you spread about 1/2 Cup of the red pepper jelly. Take round brie cheese, and place it on top of the red pepper jelly. Fold the puff pastry over the cheese and jelly so that the pastry completely envelopes the jelly/brie. Flip it over so that the folded pastry is on the bottom, and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 400°F until the puff pastry is light golden brown. Serve hot with crackers or cubed sour dough bread. It’s so good and so easy!! 🤤. 🍎🍺
I live in northern utah. The mint utah truffles are my absolute favorite and my dad loves the apple beer. Also in the truffles they have raspberry and orange flavors as well.
Wow! You must of been stuffed by the end of this video!! I don’t understand how you both stay so trim and healthy looking with all that you sample!!! I could walk by those boxes and 10 pounds would magically appear on my butt!!! It’s an unfair world sometimes!!!! 😂😂😂 Another great video!!! Thank you for once again welcoming us all in your home, and making us feel like family. Love to you both, and please stay safe. God bless you. ❤️😘🐸💜💜💜
We were so stuffed 😂 especially as we had multiple rounds of the bbq sauce and the jalapeño jam 😆 we have to do lots of exercise now 😂 ah no, I know exactly what you mean. I definitely can’t eat as much as I used to when I was younger. Would always fall off me but now it’s staying around 😆 that’s so lovely of you to say Brenda. Thank you for watching. Love to you too. Stay safe 🥰💗💗
@@ThisWithThem you're more than welcome, I am a silent watcher (I dont comment on peoples videos often lol) but I'm always here haha! Hope you guys are well and thank you for commenting back on my comment 😂 lots of love from Preston UK 😊❣
Laughed so hard when Alex said mushroom gravy to put on biscuits!!! If you have sausage for breakfast, the grease left in the pan is mixed with flour...cooked for several minutes and then you slowly add milk or cream to and continue cooking until it is thickened. Stir it and add the cooked and crumbled sausage back into it!! The South would be proud to have you try it!!
Im from Kentucky, and yes grits are a Southern food staple...Shrimp, grits and cheese is amazing. And is served in alot of southern restaurants, mostly costal.
I think it would be really interesting to see an American aisle "haul" version of these videos. I'd just like to see the store's idea of what American's snack on and if we even have those options based on where everyone lives in the US.
I'm from the South and we do lots of pepper jellies. Mostly we make it at home, but there are many you can buy. There is a pineapple habanero that is really delicious too! Cream cheese and pepper jelly on crackers is a common party appetizer. So glad you liked it.
@@ThisWithThem it was actually filmed in South Carolina. I was just in the Outer Banks two weeks ago for vacation. So much fun. We go every year and we love it. I just found your channel a few days ago. I love you guys!
Many southerners pronounce pecans, pee-cans, but my daddy, from Virginia, said a pee-can is what you use at night when you don’t want to go outside to use the outhouse! I love Russell Stover candies, and don’t know anyone that doesn’t
I love you guys. Just found you a few weeks back. Kate , you are about my daughters age. Alex, you and I share a love of beer! Love watching you try American snacks and candy . Want to send you a box . Thinking if things to include that you haven't tried. 💜💜💜from Michigan
Those are the “original” air heads, in ny that was a popular candy to get from the ice cream truck! We use to hold the very end and shake it for awhile and it rolls up inside the package, and then you eat it, of course that tasted better when you were a kid, one big ball of candy 😂
My mom found some cranberry jalapeno jam at a craft show and we are addicted! We can't find it too often but when we do, it is amazing. Have you ever tried Mackinaw Island fudge? It's world renowned.
I always make a pepper jelly and cream cheese spread for family get-togethers but I’ve found this Strawberry Jalapeño Jelly that I like the best. Yum!!
I'm from the Midwest, originally Iowa, now in Chicago, Illinois. I've never in my life had grits. I don't think I've even ever seen it on a menu at a restaurant. I've always been under the understanding that grits is in fact a Southern food.
This With Them - Grits cold turn into what is called polenta. The only difference really is the color and if your using instant grits ( yuck 🤢 ) the long cooked grits are awesome and I’m not talking about Cracker Barrel’s grits there awful 🤗
Agreed... avoid Cracker Barrel anything, especially their grits and their chicken and dumplings. So awful. My friends has grits just about every morning and she puts stewed tomatoes on hers with lots of butter. Oh, instant grits aren't as lovely as the real thing. :)
I am in oregon and we eat grits in our family. We like them with butter garlic salt and cheese. Then we add either ham chuncks, or little smokies sausages.
🍏🍺 ..Utah is a highly Mormon state so I am sure that beer is their way of having a beer since they are anti alcohol and caffeine as well as other addictive substances. Good job Melanie.
Please educate yourself before opening your mouth sweetheart-Utah IS highly Mormon, but apple beer is not a substitute for beer. 🤣 It’s simply a soft drink. It’s like root beer. Have you ever heard of that? Also, it is simply untrue that Mormons don’t drink caffeine. They don’t drink COFFEE. All other drinks with caffeine are fair game and widely consumed.
You need to try one of the Snyder’s buffalo wing pretzels with one of their ranch flavored. It’s an amazing combination and we always buy them together.
Yay I am happy to see a Utah box. The Utah chocolate bars you ate towards the end are in a local Utah grocery store called Maceys. I used to work for the store a number of years ago and yes they still stock them. I am so happy you enjoyed the chocolate and the box you received.
Yaaaay haha 🍎🍺 love it!! Oh really! Yeah it definitely must be a southern thing then. Some people would find them weird if they’re not used to it. So glad we loved it!
My Mom used to make her own green and red pepper jelly around Christmas time. Gave out as gifts to family. She also made a habanero version and it was spicy. My fav!
Lol biscuits and gravy is a breakfast food. It's a "country gravy" usually with sausage and fluffy biscuits. As far as grits go, I love them with maple syrup. My grandma gave me the weirdest look when I first did that.
@Dixie Kat : you got that right. This scene from _My Cousin Vinny_ is perfect for this... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_T24lHnB7N8.html
It's pretty common in the US to see the cream cheese and pepper jelly combo at parties. I love a raspberry one! Normally a soft block of cream cheese with the jelly spread over the top on a platter surrounded by crackers. Yum!
My favorite cream cheese snack is deli thin slices of ham, with cream cheese spread on it, and a slice of dill pickle. All rolled up, thrn sliced into bite size, 1/2 chunks. Yum..
Oh no thats a shame instant gritts have to make them from scratch and i do like them with real butter and sugar jimmy dean sausage couple of eggs and a bisket with honey😘😘😘😘😘
Probably a dumb question, but how did they make them from scratch at home? I’m from the south and we do have a mill not far from here that sells it, but i have no idea how to grind them up at home.
So fun to watch! We're from the south in the states and we enjoyed watching you make all the fun discoveries. When I was a kid we'd make grits and add butter, salt, pepper and mix in a scrambled egg and cheese. Yum! 🍏🍺
cutting chocolate bars into slices is something my dad actually tried yrs ago and we realized it gave us the perfect combo of chocolate to the rest of what the bar is made of my favorite bars to do this with is coffee crisp and mars bars
That’s so true. And there’s something so nice about having a little bite at a time. Almost seems like a chocolate from a box! Yes! Such great bars to do that with 👌🏻
Yes add butter and cheese to the grits. Also the gravy Alex referred to is a southern favorite. Milk gravy. Usually sausage added and called sausage gravy. Alot of people add other things in place of the sausage such as bologna or bacon!!🍏🍺
grits are similar to polenta, just from a white corn, instead of yellow. The gravy and biscuits are made with breakfast sausage, sage and pepper, It's one of my favorite breakfasts. I did add a can of condensed mushroom soup once, and it was extra good. I'm a big fan of Russel Stover's chocolate, myself.
Grits are ALWAYS served in the South, and it's always with salt and butter. Cheese is definitely a very common/popular way to eat them. It's the only way I eat them and I've lived in the south my entire life. Don't hate on Kate for the extra cheese, we're here for a good time- not a long time! I've never seen grits on a biscuit, I think you might be thinking of white gravy. :-)
