no, that's quite a tall claim, it could have been if the devs thought about it before release that is 😒

They were trend chasing more simplistic moba's. Aiming for a mass audience. Experiment didn't work out.

If only DOW3 was DOW2 with better graphics , more races, similar gameplay mechanics of DOW2 but better with DOW1 base building

The moba style of game mode did them no favours but lets not also forget: a drastic drop in meaningful unit upgrades compared to the previous games, the odd decision to remove a retreat button or a levelling system matched with meat grinder style gameplay, elite units which can shred half of a late game army in moments, something like five maps on release and last but most importantly: not enough distinction between units on the map. seriously, nobody knows whats happening in the late game because its such a mess lol. A shame the game bombed, but i guess it is what it is. Dow2 elite mod is pretty rad for my 40k fix, and i hope against hope that relic doesnt botch AOE4.

What're you talking about? I doubt devs even knew what space marine is supposed to be. Probably just googled it and associated the result with infantry from Starcraft.

The reason this sequel was shit wasn't because of a lack of races. It's the gameplay...

In about 10 years or so, modders will have turned it into the DOW3 you actually wanted. ;)

@@monsieurg8256 Exactly. They fuckin' nailed it with the first Dawn of War and then after that the entire series fell off a cliff. DoWII has zero basebuilding and DoWIII has been streamlined to hell.

@@tylerkluttz3688 If you forgive DOW for not having base building, it is a darn good game focusing more on a few elite units with FAR morte customization options.
