6:44 imagine what’s it’s like having that woman as your wife. Absolutely freaking the F out because a boat hundreds of feet away hits another boat - and apparently nobody was in danger of getting hurt. I loved the end where she tells the kid to put on a life vest. I wonder how far the husband’s eyes rolled back on that one.
5:58 Screaming when you are looking at something and you know it is going to happen and it doesn't effect you at all in the slightest is so helpful. I literally have ended relationships over melodratic screaming. Nope, not for me.
Yeah, those are extremely helpful in nearly all situations! Good thing there always seems to be one around...🏹(there is no more gun emoji, what a bunch of pussies)
7:29 Son, get your life vest on! Mom, it's fine now. I SAID GET YOUR GD LIFE VEST ON NOW!!!! AND FROM NOW ON DON'T TAKE IT OFF UNTIL WE'RE BACK AT THE HOUSE!!!
He definitely saved his life! He had no clue that boat was even coming that was a big friggin boat & moving along pretty good he would have been done for sure
He definitely saved his life he wasn't even looking that way & no clues it was coming that was a big boat moving along pretty good and under power he would have been done
@Lloyd Christmas dude was in the zone thats for sure. at moments like that you dont think, you act, and trust your confidence, which the seafaring world is all about massive experience. as you rightly say, mad props to this guy -
Hahahaha that one had me scratching my head too.. Besides just being so messed up you don’t know what’s in front of you I can’t think of an explanation for that one.
Late 80's I watch a offshore power boat apache come into the dock full throttle. That thing went a long way. Two guys jumped out and started running. Coast guard and dea hot on there trail. A sight I will never forget.....
Yeah....cause having a fuckong life jacket on an anchored boat is exactly what is going to help the matter! This is why I refuse to take anyone on a boat who acts like this! I'll just throw their fucking ass ovsrboard!
I will never understand why some females feel the need to scream and freak out when something happens... especially when it has absolutely nothing to do with them.
Disclaimer: (does not apply to all) The word hysteria originates from the Greek word for uterus, hystera. ... The Egyptians attributed the behavioral disturbances to a wandering uterus-thus later dubbing the condition hysteria
That's why a dead man's switch is required any time you do not have at least a waist high guard rail. Law around me is you must have a guard rail 6in above your waist line while sitting, otherwise you must have a dead man's switch.
Seeing those unmanned boats going in circles and destroying things reminds me why God invented the kill switch lanyard and why it should always be attached to your belt or belt loops!
Finally someone else that understands the importance of a kill cord, one for the driver and a spare for if the driver gets thrown out for someone else to come pick him up, a simple piece of kit that cost pennies compared to the potential cost of damages or worse cause someone gets injured or killed
@@alexbrodie6149 most dead man's switches can be overridden by holding the switch in with your finger. Useful for going back to pickup the captain, but won't allow the boat to operate without a user at the helm.
@@2009dudeman true, but the boats we use at work will only start if the killcord is attached its not a switch like most normal ones, it's more like a black circle and the lanyard clips to it, there is always at least 2 guys in the boat, and there is a second spare kill cord so if the driver goes in then the other guy can can go get him, but that's the professional side can't imagine that many small boat owners think like that
@@alexbrodie6149 Maybe the bigger boats have a different setup. Most of the small boats (Sub 30') I have been on you could momentarily override the dead mans switch, I call it that but it's just a clip that you attach to your belt loop that goes to an electric switch somewhere on the console, usually with some way to override it so long as you hold it with your finger. But I'd agree most small boat owners have no clue how important that can be. I've seen two incidents first hand on a nearby lake with lots of jet boats and other stunters (who have more money than brains) lose control of their boats. One flew out after a nosedive turn that threw the boat around, it ran off and slammed into a boat lift halfway across the lake and still ramped up the shore onto a guys yard. The other threw the driver out after jumping a bigger boats wake at a bad angle, thankfully the passenger held on and was able to pull the throttle back.
“Y’all gotta see if he’s alright!” They drive over to the man who’s boat is upside down on top of him in the ocean during a storm “You good Bro?” “Haha yeah man, I’m doing great”
@7.12 I absolutely cannot deal with people like this, this is the sort of lady who screams and prays on a plane when there’s a little turbulence and makes it worse for everyone. “Get your life jacket on now” while watching a small boat hit another boat 50 feet away smh
3:53 The sailboat on the right is on a starboard tack, and has the right-of-way. The boat on the left is on a port tack, and should have born off to prevent the collision. I hope that the boat on the left has good insurance to cover the repairs, and also that no one was injured.
Yeah, pretty basic rule. As in the first rule of sailing. Especially as it looked like it was some sort of race. I don't understand how it could have happened.
My dad and I would sit at busy boat ramps for hours, some of them very tricky to begin with, some very easy, but we would be in tears from laughing so hard, and you cant let them see you laughing at them, that was the hard part. We would help the occasional beginner or elderly people, but so much happens at the launch. My dad has passed, but I still do it today with my own kids.
What a moron. The dumbass may have missed the bridge if he hugged the port side . Why would the idiot continue in the center with half the bridge still down? We see it every day . More money than brains. Ha
Amazing the number of people who have no idea where the throttle is or what it does. Looks like they have around 20 minutes total of boating experience.
I feel for.... The husband, and the child, having to grow up with that as a mother. Shes got that kid wrapped in Bubble wrap in the basement right now because of Covid.
4:00 there were three injured in the crash at the 2020 Superyacht Challenge Antigua . One of the crew members on “Topaz” was hit particularly hard by the bow and thrown overboard. The man is said to have broken four ribs. Another sailor on “Topaz” as on “Svea” was injured more easily.
