When your priority is to dump out your alcohol to avoid a ticket rather than to attend to the kids when a boat is sinking, says a lot about the parent.
The y should all be under arrest poor parents .don't even grab kids .of that was me first big wave I'd grab my child hold them not let the get tossed around sick very sick no child should lose there life for what stupid parents who drve lake boat in ocean
Everybody hates the lady with beer. She’s clearly the childless cool auntie or somebody’s date. Those are not her kids and yes she’s been drinking since 10am, how was she going to help😂
That lady pouring out the captains beer so he doesn't catch another DUI. Meanwhile, her children are on a boat that is SINKING!! That's so CRAZY to me!
I saw a guy run his 20ft bayliner onto a sand bar in a situation like this in Lake Havasu… kids.. New boat… too fast.. drinking Wife made him sell the boat
Get over it. Guaranteed boomer parents were doing the exact same shit, all the while with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth and no seat belts in existence.
@@makisp.1428 no, I'm definitely not sure. I have watched it so many times trying to see where each one of them went but I obviously don't know for sure if they all remained inside the boat. I don't see how all of those front boys didn't all end up in the water. I was just going off of the adults responses and when no one panicked and started freaking out, I just assumed they all remained in the boat. Thanks for your response
@@Tennessee6447Drowning does not specifically mean you die. They are becoming overcome with water. She is utterly disinterested in the children completely focused on her beer.
The Dad is laughing like it’s not serious and he’s traumatizing his kids. Then the mom gets up to empty her beer to avoid getting arrested, but doesn’t bother to help the kids, comfort them, or make sure they’re okay. These parents suck! The poor kids. 😢
Mandatory contraception, loss of custody, jail time, property seizures, banned from boating for life. Zero tolerance. These cretins are the type that will sue everyone else from God on down to avoid taking responsibility themselves.
@chaimomma9198 Thank you for telling me, not that there is much chance of me ever being on a boat there. I'll admit that my ocean boating experiences have been limited to less than a handful, but I never dreamed there was anywhere that alcohol was not permitted on a personal pleasure boat in the US.
@@kzendo6542 right, I swear the world has been pussyfied. Everyone sits on their ass while judging others on social media instead of living their own lives. By the looks of many of the comments on this video it's a good guess most are too damn scared to leave their own house, let alone make memories like this family just did. Sure it might have been a stupid moment but I'm also sure these kids will probably remember this for life and probably had a great time if they have any sense of adventure.
These kinds of small boats aren’t really meant for the ocean/inlet. They’re more lake boats. And that lady dumping her beer is lucky she didn’t fall overboard & get sliced & diced by the propeller!🤦🏼♀️
I have a boat this size. There are lakes I won't take it on just because the waves from the wakeboarding boats are bad enough. I can't imagine having it here.
The father should have trimmed the motor so that the bow was higher than the stern. These boats can go to the ocean when they have someone at the helm who knows what they are doing, but an inexperienced captain should stay on a lake.
This is in New Jersey, not the Ocean. I take mine to the Ocean quite often. People ride jet skis to the bahamas so you can indeed do it, just not this guy
@@sammythompson3694agreed! That was my first thought was that he should have trimmed the motor. I’m not even a boat owner and I knew that, all I’ve ever done is rent ski boats on the lake. But even still, those waves looked pretty formidable for that boat. The whole thing was a shit show
boating tip: if there are waves like this you should go fast so there are just bumps under you, and your not going under the waves getting water in. unless it’s a no wake zone, you could be ticketed by a police/ranger. P.S. it’s nice that i finally find one of these videos where the kids are wearing life jackets.
Looks to me like they are just starting to get into the Lock's and the water gets extremely choppy so the little ones shouldn't have been on the bow of the boat.
@@ITGkitty The boat I believe was over capacity and weight limit, I agree with what you originally wrote too but I saw those seawalls and it definitely looks like the beginning of entering the locks.
Red flags everywhere. The life jackets to drinking. Polluting. Too small Of a boat. Pour water convision too many people. The list goes on. Child Endangerment.
Looks like they are going through the locks which can be VERY choppy waters which means that those kid's should have never been sitting in the bow to begin with and they're headed out into the ocean or Great Lakes but first of all that boat is over loaded and the driver is definitely not qualified to handle the boat. 😂😂WOW not smart !!!
well first off get the kids weight off the bow, and also isn't the problem that he stayed in idle and should've had the throttle up so he can raise the bow?
Actually he should have gotten into the throttle AFTER having everyone move toward the stern. The bilge pumps are usually in the rear of the boat and by getting into the throttle the water would have shifted to the stern. The idiot screaming “put it in reverse” was giving absolutely the wrong instructions.
@@mikeschuler2946on a 20ft or less mono "single" hull boat you go by the manufacturer weight capacity plate including ppl, gear & motor! now if the plate is missing which would be illegal in most states you can use the coast guards recomended formula multiply the length × width then divide by 15 would give the number of occupants based on 150lbs ea
@@nevadaboy9769 and if you have half a brain will cut that number in half if going into extremely rough water relative to the boat you are in. They had that thing loaded and riding damn low to start, then didn't get weight out of the bow, then decided throttle it into the waves...just dumbasses.
This is just cruel! Honestly hope those kids are not traumatized by someone's stupidity. Didnt see an adult go to the front to help saw them go to the rear of the boat Sickening!!
Watch again, the guy in the blue shirt goes to the front and starts grabbing and pushing them towards the back of the boat. He literally has the one in the greenish vest and red shirt by the back of his life vest and is hauling him out of the front towards the back before the lady starts emptying her beer?
Oh stop, I wouldn’t call them horrible parents, they had life vests on. Also the Nj state police marine barracks are literally on the canal about 30 seconds from where this happened.
@@jamesps7515 that’s like saying, “I’m not a horrible parent for driving drunk with my kid in the car, he had a seatbelt on” ….as a parent, you should never put your kid in a position where they can get pop off the boat and swept under a boat that’s moving. This is boating 101 with kids, the simple fact they had all those people on this little ass boat riding hard into choppy waves let me know all about the parenting skills…topping of course is mom emptying her beer while not attending to her kids that are scared and crying
And this is why everyone should have to take a course and pass a test to drive a boat just like a car. And be able to lose the license just like a car.
😂 everyone talking about the chick pouring the alcohol and all I'm thinking about is "Put it in reverse Terry! What you doin Terry put it in reverse!" 😂😂😂
You don’t want to reverse in that situation, you want to quickly move everyone to the back of the boat, pick up speed, and trim the nose up, and get all the water to the stern so the bilge pump can pump it out. Going slow, stopping, turning, or reversing in a bad current with whitecaps are the most common reasons people end up sinking their boats. It’s not a car, you can’t just stop and pull over and park it. Sometimes you just gotta cowboy up, goose it and get through the rough stuff. His whole problem in the first place was going too slow, and having too many people up front.
That idiot Dad should be locked up for endangering everyone on board! The really sad part is those kids were so trusting of their idiot parents that they were smiling thinking they were safe and having fun! All the adults weren’t even wearing life jackets and were obviously drunk! What an embarrassment and example for those kids!
Yeah that's all okay but gosh if you just smack a kid on his sushi trying to stop in from getting into even more trouble 😢 you'll see jail time for that
@@MIGHTYX2010 I don’t know what a sushi is on a person but I get your drift and you’re right! Now of days when you spank a kid it’s called abuse in some places and the trend is spreading! I grew up in the 80s and was spanked when I did something that deserved it and it raised me to have respect! Also to choose my decisions with protecting instead of hurting people! I was the type of kid that had to also be spanked by my father because I would laugh at my mother trying! All she had to do is say wait until your father gets home and I knew I messed up and it was deserved!

60 years of boating experience here. One thing that I have found out is the best way to sink a boat is to fill it up with water. (Unless it's a Boston whaler) And the best way to put your family in dangerous to Sink your boat. Many years ago my friend told me that all boats need a bucket. Now you see why.
I bet if you talked to that guy driving the boat. He would tell you he is the best boat driver in the 5 state area. You just can't fix stupid. After the first wave goes over the front normal people start asking questions.
Watched 7 people drown in Lake Erie a number of years ago in a bowrider during a storm between Kelly and Mouse islands. It was just too rough for anyone to help. We were taking 6-7 ft waves over the bow and bailing like crazy. They all washed up on the beach later that night. Never ever catch me in a bowrider.
I remember this story, the parents/adults in this situation were clearly drunk it's sad that alcohol is more important than children's lives. Plus he wasn't even suppose to be going that fast in a wake zone
Not a wake zone. Weren’t going fast. Just bad judgement in a bowrider. On a moving tide this happens about every 2 hours at this inlet. Not a story. Just a regular display on idiocy
@drdrew3 people just assume facts to support their position. Still under power trim the bow high wait for the bilge pump to do its job or if it's a foamed in bilge for the water to run out. Reverse with a bow full of water is stupid. As far as drinking the only one who has to be sober is whomever is piloting the boat but everyone is making a big deal out of it. I do have life safety concerns, when underway kids always wear life jackets though it's not required on my boat and in that boat I believe it's required (can't tell the actual length or make). The usual stupidity of running an inlet without knowledge of the waters it seems
@@gary_neilson1896 yeah cuz she would of been arrested for not wearing A life jacket , throwing empty alcoholic containers in the ocean ( big fine) and having children in the front of a boat that only holds 3 people
