Lost my Venom the same way. According to some others it’s very known for not being able to pull out of dives. I loved this one I plan on getting another one soon
No elevator control in a dive would be a compressibility problem. Very prominent on twin boom aircraft such as the P-38 and the Venom during high speed dives! Holy sheeit Batman I thought you were going to cut the throttle on the way down! Every crash makes us better brother and none of us are immune. Keep pushing the envelope cause you be rocking Che!
Che really sorry for you and Ashley. I know this doesn't help any but RCing for 50+ years I've put many in the ground. Love you two for showing everything. ✈️😎💝💝
You are 100% correct in your reasoning. I have lost a jet in the exact way(freewing avanti). Keep up with the great videos! Truth is what I like seeing! The good with the bad, kind of like life!
Super philosophical and calm as always. It really demonstrates how much real estate you need when flying these fast EDFs. I would love to invest in 70mm plus models but have nowhere to fly them. BTW if that was me I would be loudly, wildly, crazy-man, off-the-scale emotional.
Che',so sorry to see this.Nt sure if it's a common thing with aircraft that have twin booms supporting the h-stab,but the real P-38 Lightning, also has this problem.Shake it off and keep it up,you rock my brother!
I learned that lesson the hard way too. Always throttle back on a over the top decent. Especially if you're inverted pulling negative Gs. I pile drives. Y corsair that way. Full throttle. Lesson learned. As you said bro. On to the next one. 👍👍😎✌✌thanks for sharing bro
sorry, that sucks! I know the feeling, my venom crashed on the maiden (aileron servo failure- mailed it to motion and they confirmed it). I rebuilt it, replaced all the servos and proceeded to fly the crap out of it! Since it was all beat up, it made a perfect canvass for some heavy duty weathering. I loved that plane for probably 200 flights before killing it (my fault that last time) I hope you can rebuild or replace- it's an awesome bird, and was my best sounding one for sure.
Sorry about this Hamilton, but I will say good on you for posting the good and the bad. I have had my share of these disappointing days. Don't let it get you down brother you are a good pilot and you know this so keep flying like you do.
When you hit the top and were still on the throttle, my heart sank. Then I saw the ground before I barely saw any white from the wings and thought, "it's all over!" I did the same thing on my Conscendo flying it 4S for the 1st time. Didn't have the same elevator authority as it did on 3S doing the same dive at the same D/R. Was at the same throttle position too, just at a higher speed...and also at the same altitude. Such a great looking (and not cheap) bird!! Sorry for the loss. Hope you can replace it sooner rather than later. Sometimes, you just have to double down.
All last flight wallet stingers suck for sure but that one was certainly epic! It felt no pain my friend, sorry for the sacrifice to the Gods of flight but history shows they will and must be made. I hate it when that happens 😢. Ciao.
Oh no!!! I know everyone is adding in the should have/would haves this after the fact and hindsight 20/20... but its all good, go get another one and fly on!!
Hello brother I can’t count the times I’ve crashed it’s been many ha ha Ha keep going keep enjoying yourself that’s what I do and I love your videos you and your wife a great .
Sorry to see that crash, it looked like you stayed in power instead of throttling back. Hard lessons of flying sometimes cost us all , reversed elevators, reversed rudders, loops or rolls too low, too much of not enough speed for landings......ect...ect . You will overcome this crash and advance to greater achievements and I for one await your next video.
Cnr, Thanks a lot! I realized I was still in the power when it was too late lol. This is definitely one of those things you do once, and then it will be indented into your brain to not do that again. My uncle says "You'll have that" hahah thanks for watching bro we have more new jets!!
Did you know this plane had that elevator stall at high speed dives before you flew it? The Zero in WW11 had that problem in steep dives aswell . Sorry for your loss, great composure after the crash.
Man that sucks because that thing sounded great and looked great in the air,,, like you said i don't think it had enough elevator control for the speed it was coming down..... Thanks for your videos.....
The same thing happened with my very 1st plane. But unlike you, I did not know how to store my planes. I stored my plane, which was an Apprentice in the attic which fell a victim to extreme temps, because I live in Texas. One flight during a cool evening the receiver just lost communication with the elevators.
@@hamiltonshangar That happened 4 years ago and I learned from that mistake. Also for any one who has interest. I have made an intro video that includes a hanger tour.
Rip a ronies, shit happens to us all brother. Sorry to see this with such a new bird. Hope you get another one. I could tell you were liking this one a lot.
Dude! Getting too comfortable too fast! I try to limit my drop in approches but good we have a current height limit. Sorry for your loss so early in it's service! STOP DOING THAT!
That stinks Che, I always learn from my mistakes then after a while forget about it and do it again. Hated to see that one, just hope you can reuse the rx, Jeff in LA USA
Well if it is a dead bird I may need the retracts one the edf access cover . ( foam part that in screws to get to the edf on the bottom of the plane ) let me know .
I don't think there's quite enough glue and tape around to fix that one. I think every one of us that flies, can empathize with you on it, though. It always sucks to see it happen, especially to such a nice plane.
That is right bro! Failure is a great teacher! I am not sure how I did not scream lol I kind of wanted to but I knew what I did so it is what it is. On to the next. We appreciate you checking it out! I'm very happy to have a wife that is as involved as she is man. Cheers!
