Epic Day Fishing for RIVER MONSTERS - Fishing Eastern Cape South Africa  

There are really not many fish left hey, fishing is extremely difficult unfortunately. If everyone had to strictly release their fish, then imagine how amazing the fishing would be. These big fish we catch here is a very rare scenario, and that's why i was so protective over the locations and footage for many years. I absolutely cannot keep fish becau of e the simple fact that i know how to catch the ones which are left. Killing these fish would be taking advantage. Nobody who fishes with me is allowed to keep fish. Its my simple rule 😅 imagine i show people how to catch and then let them kill the fish. That would be so wrong. Unfortunately the far majority of people do not think the same way and thats why there are so few decent fish left.

This is old footage hey, I held onto it for years. Many more videos to come in future. The fish we caught there just kept getting bigger and bigger.

What would you like to know? In this video i was using an assassin supernova medium light and a shimano vanford 4000 which i traded in for a 3000 in later videos.

I use around 20 to 25lb braid and go for a thinner high end brand like whiplash. Braid weakens as it ages so i go for the highest lb rating which will basically fit all or almost on the 3000 spool.

Hook size depends on bait and target species. I like a light wire hook. J or circle. 5/0 or 6/0 J for big baits. Circles from 1/0 to 8/0 for live baits, prawn, digle dangles. Match the hook size to bait size and bait to target species and fish size.

Yip. My go-to baits are mudprawn, sandprawn, swimming prawn, live mullet, pilchard, and sometimes chokka.
