I'm apparently still dumb, 31 years old, skated very high speed down a long and steep hill with a blind turn at the end and uncoming traffic (cars). This was two weeks ago, I do incredibly idiotic things to impress dates. 🙆🤦 I have no idea how I survived to be this "old" 😂

Holy fuck… I felt that fall. I would skate downhill with two skates on the ground and it’s already challenging at that speed. One foot skating at that speed will give me a heat attack.

He falls because the wheels on his left foot spin faster than the wheels on his right foot.

Yeah, but he's a stick with no leg muscle. THat's the real reason. Anything that makes him steer at that speed in that position is too much for one of his little legs to handle. He wouldn't have tried to stand up otherwise and would've made it like that all the way down.

Confirm that's right. He attempted to change the speed of wheels from 0 to 100km/h in a very short time. Changing speed in a short time generates huge force. He couldn't handle that force. The right wheels acted like breaks.

Daaaaamn man I hope you had some sort of gear under your hoodie. I wiped out *not as severe* but skirted down the road a bit and I went and bought this vest thing that helps a bit. It's like a tight muscle shirt with stuff in it to help with impacts and road rash. Not bulky at all. And lite. Pretty cool actually

That makes total sense. What they should have done is stay low to the ground as they made contact with all the wheels, shifted the weight and center of gravity slowly to the other foot, and kept the knees bent. But at those speeds it's rather difficult to do without incurring the wobble flops. Better to stay in that original position.

Don't underestimate your legs as a skater. It really helps stabilise both of your feet while skating through little undulations of the road.
