This is my experience in my first job as a chemical engineer working in Jamaica in the bauxite industry. It was truly a life changing, mind blowing and chaotic experience that I would never take back. Every single moment helped to mold me into the person I am today. I regret no part of it. Hope this will encourage someone who is currently anticipating their first job as an engineer or who is currently working at making their career a reality.
Romans 8:28 And we know that ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. KJV
My hope is to encourage, motivate, have fun and to share the journey with you all!!. In this video I want to just share a bit of me.
If you're no too busy you can stop by my other videos.. some might start off a bit slow depending on how I'm feeling that particular day.. bt ALL are authentic me. Real as it gets.

If I may ask, what is the pay like working as a chemical engineer in jamaica and have you ever felt like it would have been better if you had become a doctor/surgeon/pharmacist? Also what's your take on the salary between an engineer and a doctor, is there that much of a difference between the two?............I would really love to hear from an actual chemical engineer and not just what they say on google

Ok, the pay may vary based on the place you work and the position you hold at your job. Maybe it could start at a bit over $200,000 if you start off as a process engineer. And increase as you get more experience. Yes, I have considered the possibility that it could have been better if I had become a doctor or pharmacist or surgeon yet those were never options for me speaking realistically. I think a doctor makes more also and yes there is a huge difference between a doctor and an engineer, even the time it takes to complete your studies is different. Go where your passion takes you. Hope this was helpful, remember to subscribe for additional video updates. Thanks for watching!

How much did you use all your knowledge in your job as in all the knowledge you gain how much of it was applicable. Also did you find anything that you wished you had learned in college?

I used foundation knowledge not like the all of the things I was taught but the core principles of chemical engineering were necessary so it’s important to still make sure you learn as much as you can. Secondly, I wished I had asked more questions in classes rather than being afraid of looking stupid before other lost students.

Coding is very important, learn at-least python. Material and Energy balance gives you a total overview of chemical engineering (a little of thermo etc). Work alot of problems and don't be disheartened over a bad test

I thank God you had started this channel, as it had push me further to take a chance (now) and go for this field. I would be grateful to meet you in person if it's a possibility even though Covid 19 might be a hamper. THANK YOU❤ 🙏🏽 Westmoreland
