Looks more like a controlled failure than an accident.

Interesting content, misleading title. That was neither a FAIL nor EPIC. It wasn´t even an accident! It indeed was controlled and not "controlled". Thumbs down.

If a crane falls in the forest and the boss doesn't hear it, will he even remember he owned that POS?

"Let's overload this crane, way beyond it's failure limit, and see if it fails..." - "Oh, yes it does..." Goodness me, they must have a lot of spare time in Sweden.

The base anchor failed. The crane structure itself appears to remain in tact, going down as a unit. It tipped from the base.

Ok, so it was lifting a concrete weight over nothing in an open field 🤷🏽‍♂️ Thumbs down for fake title! 👎

It's not an accident, saw it somewhere and it was mentioned that it was done on purpose.

Or you can fold it down and haul it to the scrapper. Much faster than cleaning up a mess.

Not a tower crane. It’s known as the self erector class of cranes. Counterweights on the base swivel and remotely operated with no onboard operator.

Normally there is a safety switch that limits the crane to go beyond max traveling limit on the boom. These limit switches can fail.... then this can happen :)
@sipke
@sipke 3 года назад
@@vmtools9043 there is a limit switch for the travel that will switch off the forward on the arm when the car reaches the end but i think what they wanted to demonstrate here is the failure of the max torque safety switch. Periodic safety inspection should test both max load and max torque safety switches but many inspectors don't bother...

They probably disengaged the overload protection. In normal conditions it would have stopped the load driving further and further down the jib.
