honestly my favorite part of the last days of elementary and middle school and my first year of hs before i went to homeschooling was always fun helping the teachers go through old papers & flipping the desks upside down and piling them on top of eachother + taking everything down from the beginning of the school year but now after i graduated this year i miss it

Good luck next year! I started in 2nd grade last year, had to move up to 4th grade this year. Now, I'm about to have some of my 2nd graders again next year and I am so excited! I LOVE these teacher videos!

Redoing the charts makes complete sense as a teaching student, I understand. In my classrooms I've been in to observe I've taken notes of charts that teachers have used and I plan that once I get my own classroom in about 2 or so years that I will take that material past teachers have tought me and adapt it to my teaching style and also to the style of my classroom too. The last classroom I was in was also 5th grade, I am a Elem Edu Major so k-6, I prefer the younger but I did love my 5th grade class I was in so I'm falling for the older student too.

You are totally justified. I like everything to look a certain way and in my handwriting. If it’s not, it has to be done over🤣

This made me regret my decision not to go in for teaching years ago when I had the chance. I'm the same way Allison... I have to have things a certain way. Oh my goodness I remember reading that book the hatchet :) Smart boards never came into the picture until i was in high school before that it was the good old chalkboard lol good times! :P :) Good bye old desk you will not be missed lol :)

Classrooms in my school are 50% of yours and we have 45-50 students squeezed in those rooms. So you would have thought that where is my school. Yes you are right it’s INDIA . And our rooms are cleaned by peon uncles because our teachers don’t take interest in cleaning. And also we have one giant black bored and only four fans with no ac and summers are very challenging for us.

Love this!!! Nothing like de cluttering your classroom! Early childhood classrooms are the same challenges!! Ok, weird shaped classroom, but amazing space! Wow!!!!! Our classrooms are tiny and we have tiny little closet space! My first year teaching, I did have what I loved to call a walk-in closet! It was amazing, but after that I had tiny closets! Your allowed to bring your own desk and paint your room?!?! That is so awesome! My school doesn’t allow for that. We have the ugliest colors! One hallway is half yellow and half khaki. The other hallway is orange and that same ugly khaki, the other is an ugly color of blue with the same khaki color! Ewww! Luckily, the early childhood wing is yellow and all colors stand out with the yellow. Let me just say the carpet! Ugh! It’s so gross! It only gets washed once a year IF your lucky! We are allowed to decorate though. A friend, who teachers 2nd grade at my same school, added pretty pastel pink and mint green contact paper to her cabinets and they look very pretty and very inviting! Can’t wait to see the transformation of your classroom!! Great job!! Oh and yes, I used to store all my things just in case, yeah, after almost 20 years teaching, I know you don’t need all that clutter! Lol! Great job, fellow teacher!!
