Not a fan of either of these teams but what was South Carolina's QB thinking on that last play? He had his receiver wide open and just SAILED the ball. Also sailed the failed two-point pass as well. Those had to be tough for South Carolina fans.
The Alabama defender who caught the interception would NOT have gotten a 'safety' because they changed the rule. It would have been a TOUCHBACK. If a defender intercepts the ball within either the five yard line or the 3 yard line (I don't remember) it is ruled a TOUCHBACK because of forward momentum. That is the rule now. They recently changed this rule, and it was a good change that completely eliminates a scenario precisely like this, where a defender has a brain-fart and goes backwards. I hate both of these teams, but the Alabama defender didn't do anything wrong in this scenario give the current rules.
Surviving has to be the exception to a team from Alabama I speak as an alumni that was there during Bear Bryant’s time and then got to experience Nick Saban .. this coaches attitude is very alarming… Too laid-back
Anybody who says college QB’s face good defenses needs to understand that’s just not true. The first touchdown where nobody is within 30 yards of the receiver is the normal defense these qb’s face. ANYBODY CAN LOOK GREAT THROWING TO WIDE OPEN RECEIVERS. Regardless if college kids are getting paid, they’re still amateurs.
This was poor coaching by both teams on so many levels. When the Bama receiver caught that ball, I was yelling at the screen "Get down", if he falls down, Bama goes to victory formation. As a former O-lineman, I was taught on a deflection just knock it down, much less in the last two minutes with no timeouts. And to the guy that intercepted, he better be thanking God and his teammate for not kneeling down in the endzone. That would have been a safety and a tied ball game.

The game didn't need to end so dramatically. The coaches need to tell the Alabama receiver who scored the last touchdown to get down the next time so that the offense could end the game.
You’re right. Their ignorance to securing a victory is equally as bad as Miami last year (run the ball instead of taking knees). Bama left the opportunity to lose the game out there. Post game press conference question wasn’t pressed with Coach’s side stepping the question.(he focused on the final interception “take a knee”. I thought it would be a safety if he kneeled it in the end zone. That’s a different play and its own discussion). So either the Coaches made it clear to the team at the 2 minute timeout and the Coaches can’t make a big deal out of it. Since it would reflect poorly on the players. -or- “Get the first down and go down” wasn’t covered at the 2 minute mark timeout. Similarly the Coaches can’t deliberately focus on it now without looking bad.
Alabama has the talent to defeat any team in CFB. It's the discipline and coaching that's holding them back. Stop the penalties. Milroe keeps dropping into bad habits. The defense is chaotic. RTR!
Feels like I’m watching FSU barely squeak by everyone last year. Let’s see if Milroe stays healthy at the end and what the voters do with Saban-free Alabama. $ECtion 8 shenanigans
😅😅this year's alabama team is no different than the cowboys. Like Stephen a says just wait. Alabama will not let us down. 😂😂😂😂 it's still loading on a dial up connection
