Delighted that MDD won. He's been absolutely magnificent all week. It's been a true fairytale story, and he's a great bloke too. Meanwhile, a word for Luke Humphries. The most genuinely nice and humble guy I have ever known in sport. An absolute legend of a person.

So much bottle shown by that young man in such a high pressure match. Huge congrats to Mike! And comisserations to Humphries, who continues to be so classy even in defeat.

A fantastic achievement by De Decker first of all.....but can we take a moment and appreciate the massive sportsmanship by Humphries? The fist-bumps and appreciation of his opponents' great darts and humbleness in defeat by this fantastic champion! I just became a huge Humphries fan!

What a final! Absolutely delighted for Mike! What a story! His dart at tops to take set 9 was an absolute champion’s dart. It was gonna be super tough to hit it in the first place, but under that kind of pressure? Unreal. Certainly the most improved player in 2024. Luke tried to fight back as best as he could but it wasn’t enough. There was a period where he was missing a lot of doubles to finish and that cost him in the end. Gracious as ever in defeat though. He’ll be back fighting in the next one. What a tournament it’s been. That’s why we love the darts.

Brillant game of Darts that, fully deserved for De Decker, no one give him a chance but he was amazing and what a man Humphries is even when he very rarely loses he always gives his opponent their flowers a proper champion.

Mike dropped out of the top players but worked hos way back to make this tournament and then win it. That's a genuine champion right there. Kudos. Beating the best player in the world to do it. Showed real bottle to halt Lukes comeback.

I had the feeling that Mike was gonna win i don't know why but he played well the whole tournament. First PDC Title well done🎉.

Really pleased for Mike and well deserved - I was roaring him on and I was astonished at him keeping his composure which always must be questioned when a player has never been in a major final - he's come from nowhere and is now in the big league - all credit to the lad. And I must add...what a decent guy Luke is - there's not many players that would've genuinely congratulated their opponent as he did when that crucial dart went in for Mike in set 5, giving him a 4-1 lead. I've said many times that these Luke 'haters' do not even like darts - fcukin' idiots!¬ He's a credit to the sport and the younger brigade could learn a lot from watching how he always conducts as a proper sportsman. Obviously his own disappointment aside...he looked genuine pleased for Mike.

Doesn't matter who wins, I got John Part and Wayne Mardle commentating. A win before anything starts.

Luke couldn't miss in his semi, but in the final for a long stretch couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Managed to turn it around to make it a contest again, but the better man won in the end. Always nice to see an underdog do well. Luke as usual gracious in defeat.

Mike de Decker was phenomenal on his doubles the whole tournament and did the right things at the right moments. He deserved the title. Humphries couldn't bring his best game to the final. If he did play like in the half final it would have been a different game, but I think Mike de Decker forced him into errors. What a final it was!😃
