In 2019 we went on an epic adventure to Finland in our Tinggly campervan and it was awesome.
We started in the south and made our way to the north until we crossed over to Norway!
There is so much to see on a Finland driving trip whether you visit in summer, spring, autumn, or winter.
I did my best to pronounce Finnish words, but I do apologize if I completely ruined it! haha
Finland is full of scenic drives, so even if you only do a small portion of the country, you'll still be amazed by the beauty on offer.

Hey! we visited in October/November time, and we did see the northern lights in Levi in Finland during that time, but we saw them loads further north when we crossed into Norway!

You made the trip in december or early January, when the snow cover is not constant yet. I was mostly surprised that Lapland was not all green yet. But in the early winter it sepends how the clouds have moved, until the snow clouds have traveled across all the country - at least the north- This year the south had a winter too, but it's sketchy some yaers nowadays. It may look in the south like Rovaniemi was here: some frost on the roof etc., but no snow.

We visited in October & November, there was no snow in October, and some began to appear in November, so it was pretty cool getting to see the landscape in both forms! :) Apparently, when we visited though, the locals were telling us the snow had come early in the season!

@@CazzyandBradley It's early if it's october snow. Lapland, and east yntil Koli may get the snow in November. South gets it in Dec-Jan. The temp. difference goes from AW to NE, largele due to the sea, and Golf current, which affect stops in or after Eastern (Russian) Carelia. It's a bit their propaganda to call it Carelia - as if it was the only Carelia. They were a Finnish tribe that was sålpt in half by the border between Sweden (who took most of Finöand) snd Novgorod, later Russia. We have 2 provinces in Finland called South and North Carelia, so that's the Western Carelia. You were in South Carelia in that scenic route to Mikkeli, crossing over to South Savo. The borfer is before Savonlinna (city) where Olavainlinna (Olaf's castle) guarded Savo close to the old eastern border. In Koli you were in North Carelia. it's a more a hill country, anticipating with Kainuu the arrival to Lapland

Just a small fix - Savonlinna isnt the northernmost (stone) fortress. Both Oulu (1590) and Kajaani (1604->) had a fortress, the one in Oulu got destroyed from a magazine explosion, but it was mostly made of wood. Savonlinna may claim the title for being northernmost from medieval time (1475).

Is it possible to buy gpl in Finland ?

You can only get lpg if you have a Finnish tank (which you can purchase depending on how long you wanted to be there), or you can dip into norway or Sweden to fill up lpg there:)
