Oh boy! Yes! Zankuro! Call me crazy, but he looks and feels like a Samurai version of Akuma, i don't know why but he looks far tougher here than how i remember him, maybe that's just me... plus, this is the Samurai Shodown that i've played the least, anyway... as always, very good match, i'd truly like to play with you sometime.
Zankuro is my favorite Samurai Shodown boss and yeah, I always see him as the 'Samurai Akuma' too. I think you would be pretty disappointed playing with me - I'm not very skilled and the lag wouldn't help xD
*Oh yeah. The boss that wants to rematch you with a rule: Don’t time him out.* *Also, is it just me or does this and Samurai Shodown IV are the OG Mortal Kombat X and 11? Because customizing move pools?*
Zankuro is admittedly a rather forgettable boss to me. Amakusa and Mizuki are wild, Gaoh and Hell Gaoh are INSANE... but Zankuro is just kinda meh. And the big twist to the fight just feels like cheap bullshit. You beat him twice, and then... he just gets back up, totally normal, and you beat him again? Yawn. It's like if you beat Shao Kahn, and instead of him exploding like he usually does, he just.... gets back up. Lol. So weird. Anyways, nice footage.
Zankuro is my favorite boss design from Samurai Shodown series, but I think Mizuki fight is more epic. Would be better If the 'twist' happened when you defeat him once (like 94' Rugal).
Honestly I disagree.. zankuro stands out for me because he's the first boss in the series who didn't need the power of a dark god to beat you or any of his opponents down and his own will power made him refuse to go down unlike the others who needed dark power. He was such a g that amakusa wanted to take his power but canonically couldn't. Even after bringing him back from the dead, he had to seal zankuro away using the special ki of hazuki I think her name was.. Like imagine being only human, with no power from a god.. and still have one of the biggest baddies in the series fear for their life against you. Sorry, but zankuro is a beast
