BEAMNG NEWS episode 148 Another private car jump competition has taken place on the Car Jump Arena today, and this one was special: It was transmitted live on TV! Seeing how car jump fans miss the competitions, the Arena owners have negotiated a deal with BeamCom to install cameras, and for the first time in history stream car jumps live! Previously, nobody was interested in this kind of thing, as one could simply go to the Arena itself, and it's big enough to fit everyone interested. But these days, when everyone around the world is advised to stay home because of the epidemy, the demand for it has instantly increased! So today, on Channel 1 at 5 PM, we could see a live transmission of a private car jump competition for the first time ever! This one was organised by a group of rich dummies who own some expensive car models, and they are so rich that they can wreck them without big finantial consequences! What's common for these cars is that all of them had ridiculous engine swaps! For example, we could see an ETK 800 with a V10 engine swap, hood exhaust and drag wheels! But that was one of the more normal ones. Some of them were much weirder, like the legendary original Firehawk that showed up as well! If you are not familiar with the Firehawk, we'll describe it briefly. Imagine a Bruckell Moonhawk, but with an extended front and a pair of extra wheels there. Now, add a V12 engine from a Spitfire fighter plane to it! To make it even more ridiculous, add fender exhausts, race tires, camo paint... And guns!! Yes, that car has 4 original Spitfire guns under the hood, and they work! There is an ammo display inside the car, and the steering wheels has the gun triggers on it! There is even a sight on the hood! This car could work as a real fighter plane, if only it had wings! Another weird modified car we could see, although not as weird as the Firehawk, was a modified Gavril Bandit. These cars are rare nowadays, and that's because they never sold well. The main reason was the lack of crash safety, mainly caused by one thing: the unique construction of the vehicle, which is unibody with a front subframe. The only other Gavril vehicle with this kind of construction is the Barstow (which shares many similarities with the Bandit, it's like a younger, less luxury and more race-oriented cousin of it), and that one isn't the safest car ever either. Both cars can split in half after violent side impacts due to this kind of construction, and both can catch on fire when the engine overheats way too much due to inproper gear shifting, but the Bandit does much worse in frontal collisions due to the weird way it deforms. It also has plastic windows like in Ibishu Pigeon that don't break, but also reduce ths visibility a bit. All of this has lead to the Bandit being much less popular than the Barstow back when it was released, so now it's rare to see it on the streets. The one that took a jump on the Arena today was modified with a massive supercharger that sticked out of the hood higher than the roof! Speaking of Gavril, there was yet another one jumping today, the Gladiator! This vehicle has always been known for having a large variety of unique customization options available, so no wonder someone put a twincharger in it today! It needed 2 hood vents and a race radiator so the engine doesn't overheat! And that's about all of the weird cars we saw today, all the rest were just regular cars with engine swaps. Still, it was nice to see something like this on TV for the first time! We're looking forward to more negotiations with BeamCom so this can be more frequent!
