Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ru-vid.comUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

I've owned the Ridgid R86211B for about a year now, I've removed 3 transmissions including removing the rusted exhaust from Canadian winters, almost completely took apart a ford explorer for parting out, removing old rust bolts on abused farm equipment, and a trailer ball rusted to a bumper that my friend bent his breaker bar on trying to loosen. No power loss yet, no damage to the exterior and I have a bad habit of tossing it onto my gravel driveway. It's definitely worth the I'd say, especially if you live where the bottom of vehicles become rust.

Awesome value along with the lifetime service agreement. I bought that Ridgid when it first came out. The 3.0 octane battery works out great with it. It has a wider stance so it stands up it my service cart nicely. There is barely any stall taking out lugnuts, it zips them out fast and gets the job done! First off the Octane line has been officially canceled. I dont know it for a fact but I believe the Octane line was canceled because alot of people had bluetooth connectivity issues with the batteries. Alot of perfectly good batteries have been warrantied because the Bluetooth was screwy. I never even bothered with it myself. Also I loved the Octane line because it was pro level tools at budget prices but I don't think they sold well. They definitely weren't advertised well compared to Milwaukee Fuel.

if you already have batteries and chargers for 1 you might as well keep it. especially when they showed the HD battery would make it even more comparable, since they obviously used the smaller batteries, and popped the HD tests in at the end. Also compare the tests when they popped the worst battery on the rigid, when both were using the lower level batteries, the Milwaukee destroyed it. goes to also show the cells inside the Milwaukee packs have better power density.

If I were to take a guess having never used either impact. The ridgid is probably based off the milwaukee useing cheaper materials. Cheaper materials results in larger size and more weight. Larger size and more weight result in less tool movement aka wrist breaking score which means more of the "impact force" is transferred to the bolt vs the tool.

I know this is kind of stupid, but I really wish you guys would have come out and said that you had tested this higher performing Ridged impact when you first tested it. I think a lot of people use these videos as a review of the products and not publishing a video on the product because you wanted to test the other ones first (while showing each of those) seems more like you wanted to save the best for last. But you have been continually saying that the Milwaukee is the best performing despite knowing that it wasn't. I still appreciate all the work you guys do it just seems a little less facts and a little more show to do it this way. I am sure a lot of people have already purchased the Milwaukee thinking it was the most powerful.
@TorqueTestChannel
@TorqueTestChannel 3 года назад
It may stink as a viewer as bit, but the fact is we do this all the time because when we first test stuff we dont really know anything about them. We needed to test several different air hammers to know that rig was working correctly. This was our 2nd high torque and for all we knew our dyno could not read cordless impacts correctly without buying more models. This happened to us with 3/4" air impacts, our 1st one was a dog, not a whole lot more beans than a 1/2". Instead of just publishing that and defacing the brand we got a few more over the next couple month and realized our air system, heck even plugging a 3/4" impact into 3/4" cast iron pipe does not supply enough air to keep it fed to the manufacturers spec. May be your 1st time hearing this and that's because we like to gather context and info before we spread around our random thoughts and assumptions. We have to do this with different batteries, different tools like impact drivers and more all the time. If we published stuff as soon as we shot it, it would be us just talking out our behinds. As video on the Ridgid when we got it would have been about how M18's is overrated and it took us 1 try to beat it, followed by a couple months of us being wrong over and over again. But anyone watching just that video would have a poor picture of the M18's performance - which is actually still at the very top.

As always another great video. Kinda bummed my Makita high torque performed as such but I still like it anyway. I have a lot of Makita cordless tools so switching to another platform is not in the works. Just recently got the Makita 18v XWT06 3/8 cordless for work better than my Snap On 14.4v 3/8 was. I know not as good as the Milwaukee but again I have a large Makita platform so this wasn't an issue for me.

Can you please test the DeWalt DCF899 with a 21700 battery please. I'm going to need a couple of new batteries soon and want to know how the tool handles the power. #QuickTest ???

I invested in the Ridgid platform 2 years ago and am 100% satisfied. The Ridgid ROI is fantastic. These tests are great, but there's much more to a cordless platform than speed and max torque. It's like saying "x" car model is better than the rest because it has more horsepower, and that's it.

Great video, and even though the Ridgid did well, why did you use a 3 amp battery for it vs. 6 amp battery for the Milwaukee?

Stoked to see the IR W7152 on your dyno. I'm not even worried if it's the best! I ordered a Thor so I can have the best, but my IR is a beast either way. Love that thing. I'm mostly excited for the air hammer testing because, of course, I want the best! Great work, keep it coming!

I own the 2767, and my friend has the Ridgid. The Ridgid has 100 ft lbs more, but 2 things that bothered me. One, the higher RPM (Ridgid) made it hard to keep the gun on the bolt, bouncing around to much. Two, you feel the torque from the Ridgid in your wrist. The Milwaukee could be operated with one hand, while the Ridgid needed to hands, 2nd hand to keep pushing down on the Ridgid to stay on the bolt head. The power difference is insignificant, more important is reliability, batteries, the large system Milwaukee has, but on the other hand LIFETIME on the RIdgid from Home Depot will tempt many. Frankly, comfort to me is more important, less wear on the wrist....I don't have LIFETIME wrists. The higher RPM from the RIdgid just forces you to hold on with 2 hands....like a bad ride (bucking bronco). More vibration, more torque.....hard on hands/wrists. You definately feel the difference. The Milwaukee is like a cadillac in comparison....hits slower, but harder with each impact, and with less RPM reduces the twisting action on the wrists.

@alfredv9902 2 года назад
@Bones McGillicuddy At 4:50 he said the Ridgid is arm twisting. Would you like to show where he says otherwise? . My friend and I ran both guns for much longer trying to get the 22mm bolt off, and we are able to draw our own conclusion. The extra weight and lower RPM of the 2767 helped with comfort. You feel like you have to push down on the Ridgid to keep it on the bolt, or it wants to fly off the nut.
@alfredv9902
@alfredv9902 2 года назад
@Bones McGillicuddy Your opinion is based off what someone else said, not what you experienced yourself. I used both under real work conditions, not just someone who tests with a meter at 10 sec intervals, and then sums up. When it comes to judging comfort, both our opinions are valid. Worth considering, the Milwaukee has a huge system, while Ridgid does not...a big reason why more pros use Milwaukee.

Great video guys. To be fair Milwaukee’s 6.0 HO has pretty much become the new normal and replaced the 5.0. No one is going out and buying XC 5.0s anymore unless they get them in a kit. And in one of your previous video’s you showed that the M18 6.0 HO puts out the most energy out of all batteries so throwing that on the M18 would result in a win over the Rigid would it not? Like I said great video, and I know the M18 high torque comes kitted with a 5.0 but that’s kinda using old technology vs new even though Milwaukee has it available. Keep the videos coming, I look forward to them every week.

@derekbross6958
@derekbross6958 3 года назад
@@TorqueTestChannel Ya you bet, I saw. All I was getting at is that people will say well that’s not fair, Milwaukee needed a 12 amp pack to beat Rigid’s 3.0 pack but in all honesty Milwaukee’s 6.0 pack would do even better then the 12.0 pack. And I’m sure you know better then I do but does Milwaukee’s 3.0 HO do better then their XC 5.0? I’m just saying the XC 5.0 is outdated and lacks performance compared to all the new packs. Not disagreeing with anyone, love your videos.

Hey Torque Test Channel, Not to get you guys into any hot water (because I think your content is GREAT), but are any of you guys fans of Borderlands 2? It just hit me that your intro theme sounds very similar to BL2's "Southern Shelf Battle Music". I've left the link to the in-game music here: m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AAyzKnqiK20.html Either way, I've always found it really catchy ("Your intro or the game music?" "Yes.").

My tool box is a combination of Rigid and Milwaukee. I have that high power 1/2 inch and it is impressive. I don't use it much, I use my mid torque Rigid 1/2 inch mostly but I love my Milwaukee stubby. It's the shit! Along with my Milwaukee 3/8 ratchet and the 1/2 inch Milwaukee ratchet/impact.

The only problem about these reviews is that they don't take in consideration how reliable the tool is over the time. I bought Ryobi P262 because compared to Milwaukee Mid Torque it was too good to be true. And it really was as powerful as the Milwaukee 2962 that I bought afterwards. But I already broke 2 P262 in less than a month doing the same work I do with the Milwaukee daily basis. Don't get me wrong. Ryobi and Ridgid are great tools for DIYers but no way to compare em to the top dogs when it comes to work 8 hrs /day pulling axles and struts out of rust buckets.
