We went on the Sunday of a long weekend, and I'm pretty sure it was the canda day one. We hit the trail and when we got to rhe falls its was busy but in the am all the people went home and we had the place to ourselves. The trick to Della is timing. It is a balace betwen tourists and water flow .
I was born and raised at Great Central lake. We always knew as the 2nd highest free falling waterfall. I grew up knowing the Drinkwaters. I lived on the lake 20 years and flew helicopter into Dell Falls many times. There are 2 small lakes on the top, one bigger than the other. usually no water coming down at the end of the summer. I once took an endurance runner to the head end of the lake to run the trail. He did it in one day , I believe its like 12 miles to the Falls from the top end of Great Central. There are lots of Cougar at the headend and the Drinkwater's used to hunt them. Great Grouse hunting in the fall and of course lots of Black Bear.Cool video, I'll share it and like it.
That's really cool, must have been quite a sight by air......love the history of our valley, Im also a born and raised here... My sister has a float house on central 😃
@@IslandUncharted I was born in the old townsite which is gone then floating house for many years. I know Great Central like the back of my hand. I have been in the Caribbean for 20 years now moving to the Philippines . Vancouver Island ( B.C. ) is such a beautiful place. I landed across from Della and have great photos . Thanks for the journey, Really enjoyed.
