great job on the video! We're getting ready to head up there later this month and this gave us a couple more ideas like the Alcatraz East Crime Museum and also the restaurant choices besides Crocketts which I've already decided would be a must-do breakfast place! We're using my father-in-law's timeshare at the Westgate there in Gatlinburg but when I went as a kid with my family one time we did get a cabin and that is highly highly recommended based on our experience as well! I'll have to get some video of our trip and put something together talking more about the Westgate including their indoor water park. Thanks for the inspiration to that end!
Thank you! We’re glad our video was helpful and gave you some ideas on places to see and eat at. Alcatraz East is one of our favorite places and I wish I could’ve done some more with it in this video (but I completely understand why they don’t allow filming). Also happy our video inspired you to do a video as well! Enjoy your trip!
Interesting did not know about that easier hidden trail to Clinghams dome and stayed at a lodge near Crocketts, but kept going to the pancake house every morning on the parkway near Crocketts , learning every time we go about other places to go, thanks
The Clingmans Dome Bypass Trail is SO much easier, more beautiful and less crowded! Be sure to visit Crockett’s early to avoid a huge wait. They do have a nice texting system when you have to wait so you could explore the immediate area while waiting for a table.
Thank you! And thank you for a great video idea! The quick answer is it’s a Insta360 X3 camera (the same camera that makes it look like there’s a drone flying over us while we hike) on a clamp mount attached to the roof rack. We’ll make a video soon about how we use the camera and how to edit the footage from an X3 to make it look like it’s panning.
Enjoyed your video. You have 2 new subscribers here! We are heading that way in 2 weeks. This was very helpful. We hike too! Love the honesty in your hiking experiences.
Thank you! You have us as new subscribers as well! We get so excited watching all these young, in-shape RU-vidrs who blaze through these trails and then we get there and are exhausted! Worth it for the scenery, but exhausted! That's why we're going to try to do the "out of shape, middle-aged hiking reviews" so people like us can get a real idea of the beauty AND difficulty of the hikes. Enjoy your trip to the Smokies!
@@destinationdalstroms beautiful scenery as you know. Great weather year round with all four seasons and mild winters! We live in a RV resort park and it’s very quaint and inexpensive.
